how long will a t5 last in back of a 350tpi

hi guys , i have an 87 with no motor but with a the 5 speed tranny still there. I really just want to drive this thing this summer without hurting my wallet. I've found a few 350 tpi around here at decent prices . Just wondering if i can drop the 350 in and drive " a little fun" but mostly cruising . Or will it crap out on me after a few hard shifts?? thanks for the help.

ive been lucky with mine, so far i have 2 years on mine with 542hp at the flywheel and i don't tiptoe with it either. it should be fine so long as you dont drop the clutch too hard too often, but i think that goes for just about any engine in front of it.

Double check bearing play and move the tq arm mount to the xmember and you'll last a LOT longer.

being an 87 i'd assume it's a world-class T5?

IIRC, 88 was the first year for the WC.

haha, in that case imho it might hold up for some while behind an L98, depending on your driving habits.. but probably not too long if you're planning to actually use the extra power of that L98 compared to the powerband of an LG4 or similar. my non-WC T5 behind the L69 has become a bit tired as well at only 90kmls.
James posted a link of a very recent thread about the same question, so you better use the search next time or just use your eyes, it's only a couple of threads below yours

My first T-5 lasted about 300 miles before I did a 1-2 gear burnout behind my 383...I had it first behind my 350 and it did fine but it was a very very mild 350.

My guess with you asking that question, it will not last long considering some of your statements
