T56 Swap hydraulics

If you have a car that was originally a T5 car, do you have to swap the hydraulics over to that of a 4th gen? I understand that the "hose" from the master to the slave is not bendable and needs to be turned around, but has anyone tried to use the stock components and replace the hose with a longer bendable type?

No you should not have to change the master or the slave. Just replace the line with a steel braided AN-4 hose. McLeod Clutches offers a AN-4 hose in whatever length you need and a roll pin to AN-4 adapter fitting to plug into both your slave and master cylinder. The part number to the fitting is 139026.

HOLY CRAP! $46! That's awesome they make one, but dang. Pretty pricy.

I actually went down to my local hydraulic hose shop today and showed them my situation. Evidently, you can take the hose off the stock barbed fittings and replace it with some bendable line they have that is similar to what they use for air brake lines or air ride systems. Supposed to be compatible with hydraulic fluid and able to withstand 300psi. We'll see. Worse case, I have to spend more money. This stuff was 31 cents a foot.

Re: T56 Swap hydraulics

Here's another question. I have a QM 3 disc that I really wanted to use with my swap, but beings how they're different styles, I'm screwed.

...or am I?

What you guys think about this?

Re: T56 Swap hydraulics

I just bought a GM hydraulics assembly for a 93-97 manual car and bolted it in.

The only problem is the eyelet on the master cyl rod is too large for our clutch peg. You'll have to come up with a way to make a bushing to fit it.

So yeah, your question has been addressed recently, but it's spread across a few threads.

This is what I'm referring to. Has anyone had any experience using this LT1 retrofit slave? It would allow the use of a push style clutch.
