werid n00b question...
ok so this just started and i have no idea why, but im almost positive it is not good lol, whenever i am at a higher rpm (2500+) the stick shifter will becan to move up and down, not vibrate but physically move up and down about 2 inches, the car still drives fine when it is happening but i would like to know if im on the right track thinking it could be the transmission mount? its an 89 RS with a 358 swap and borg warner T5, any help (or pics of what i should check) would be awsome, thanks in advance!!

Sounds like a trannsmission mount just jack up on the tranny and if it moves up a lot needs a tranny mount

Re: werid n00b question...
the stock trans mount (rubber) is broken and needs to be replaced, not a big deal.

Hey I have another question about it sorry, is the transmission mount the same mount as the engine mounts? im looking at this one- http://www.carparts.com/details/Chev...suspe1231116r1
and it says it can be either the motor mount or transmission mount?

Re: werid n00b question...
No at all. That is an engine mount. The transmission mount is vertical.
Here is what mine looks like, but I would not recommend this particular one.

Re: werid n00b question...
I'd recommend the Energy Suspension polyurethane mount. It's also available at Auto Zone, and they're FAR superior to any of the stock style, rubber mounts. Couldn't find the part online at AZ's site, but I know they carry it. Here's a link for it on Summit Racing's website. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ENS-3-1108G/
