Can I bolt my mega shifter directly to the floor

Before I go ahead and install my megashifter I was wondering if anyone would suggest mounting shifter directly to the floor without the bracket? I think I remember reading something a few years ago where a member wanted the shifter to sit low.

There lots of pics with the shifter installed but if someone in fact has done this let me know your thoughts.

sure does. the is a little bracket that bolts to the trans tunnel and then the shifter is attached to that bracket
