28 Spline axles?
28 Spline axles?
Hello everyone,
I have been trying to find a set of used 28-spline axles for a 10-bolt in junkyards, but no one wants to part with them separate from the axle assy. Strange engineering only makes axles with c-clip eliminators. Does anyone have any axles or know who can make them???
Thanks

i have an early 80's 7.5" axle out here, it should have same as you need, i would sell em if are same length and spline, if the snow crap weather would just quit, id pull the cover and yank the shafts and measure and count em. i was told its 3.42 or 3.73 axle, so..
what do you think ?

Factory 28 spline axles that will fit will only be found in 90-92 third gens. I doubt you will find many of them in the junkyard since there weren't a lot of them produced.
You can buy much better aftermarket 28 spline axles from places like www.drivetraindirect.com or www.tomsdifferentials.com for $125 each. Part number KAC7-A7. They'll fit all third gen 10 bolt diffs with drum or disk brakes that have a 28 spline carrier installed.

Don't forget Moser. I got a pair of 28 spline axles from them for somewhere around $270 including lug studs. Moser claims a strength of 30% stronger than stock.
