Losses: newer Buick w/ a 3.8
several 4th gen V6 Camaros
a hot rodded Toyota Sienna w/ a TRD supercharger
and a 100 shot of N.O.S. (boy did I get whooped)
some guy on a souped up 4 wheeler
Wins: a 94 or so V6 Mustang (started racing around 40 mph in 2nd gear right in my power band, raced to 65, beat him by bout 2 cars.
91 Tempo (driven by my girlfriend)
Every RS I have ever raced (3 or 4)
I have never raced an import (besides the van). My car sounds like a V8 and none of them at any red lights even acknowledge my presence.

You might want to keep this kind of racing to the racetracks only... where it's legal and you get PROOF (timeslip)... and there's a message forum for this, the "Theoretical & Street Racing" forum...
I used to race a lot, but rarely, if ever, do that now... Just too much liability and risk. The cops look for you to do something when you drive one of our cars!
That being said... I have gotten beaten by a 1990 Corvette, a newer Z28, and probably a few others I have forgotten about.
I have won against: 1991 Dodge Shelby Daytona Turbo, 1996 Chevy Impala SS, STOCK 1988 Mustang GT 5.0 5 speed, 1983 Mustang GT 5speed, many 305 TBI cars, Chevy silverado with 350/auto, Non-turbo late 80's RX-7, and probably some more. Of course, I was running the nitrous (not Noss)when I did this.

I haven't dragged in a while..just too risky. I haven't raced since I've modded my car...but here's what I won and lost to when I was running bone stock (mostly):
WINS: mid 80's model Accord, a 4 speed Pinto, 94 Twin Cam Saturn
LOSSES: Modded out 2.8 Fiero, 84 Trans Am, 65 Mustang, 94 Twin Cam Saturn
TIES: What LOOKED like a Datsun 240Z stickshift?, 84 305 Z-28 w/ Flowmaster
There are more but I can't remember them.... And the Saturn listed in both wins and losses...I lost before exhaust, and won after.

Yeah..once you get past the thrill of it and all, it's really not worth the risk. The penalties for drag racing here are enormous....like a minimum $5000 fine or something and 5 year license suspension, I forget exactly but I know it's taken EXTREMELY SERIOUSLY. And there are cops EVERYWHERE here
the only thing i could say is that there is a lot of places to do it safetly from cops
i know of way to many
its just that half the time most races occur when your driving normally and some farting honda decides it wants to pull up next to you, or not let you pass, or something like that
the cool thing down here its that you don't have to race
but its fun... i think... fun until you get caught
that dosen't stop most people down here though
we have meetings tuesdays and thursdays,
we would show up to a parking lot, until the cops either show up to scare us out, kick us out, or raid in on us.
then we move to another parking lot.
in the end the meetings meet in like 10 parking lots.
raids rarely happen.
usually i leave when i notice some drivers are getting a little out of hand, like burn outs and such, they raid when they have reason.

Yeah.... I avoid public peel outs...easy ticket right there... As far as racing goes, there are places around here...but the only places you can safely get two cars side by side up to high speeds are public roads. And literally, every time I say to myself "hmm..I could probably get away with speeding through here", I pass a cop. No lie.
thats crazy
i can't stand that kind of luck
thats the type of luck that happens to me.
on the way to school. some madza, i think it was, conventional luxary
it look like a family car with luxary attrbutes to it.
it was dark so i couldn't tell
it look like it wanted to run
i didn't
but i didn't want him to get me at the merge
so i pressed the gas a little. so did he. then i added, he added too but not as much as i did, either that or i had more power, doubt that.
w/e
sometimes people park in the taco bell right by the meeting that way the cops can't say a thing cuz they are "buying"

Heh.... Me and my buddies meet up at a friend of ours' house before we go to school every day...we've done more crazy stuff on that little 30 mph road than I can remember. Let's just say there are a LOT of tread marks on that road. Btw, funny part is, I hold the tread mark record. My friend's 65 Mustang spins his tires way easier than me and he has a lot more power, but I have more *****....or stupidity... I don't know how long I powerbraked it...but when I released the brake pedal, I left a tread mark behind me that based on rough estimation, we figure is about 100 ft before you can't see it anymore. NEVER doing that one again!! I could HEAR the rear brakes and the torque converter and such making funny noises....
yup pulled off one of those, ::whispers to himself:: but not 100 ft.... damn... i wish i did that..... bugger!
anywhoo
i could hear my torque converter screaming, i pushed it once that i was so scared i didn't want to drive for the remainder of the weekened.
brakes..... what brakes? ::looks around only to see dust by the wheels::

Lol yeah I held it WAY long..I told myself I'd start her rolling once I saw smoke..only I forgot that the way the tires spin, the smoke goes out and even or towards the ground before it rises...so I didn't see it for a good while... I damn near choked all my friends to death... I granny-pedaled it all the way to school...I was afraid something was going to slip...or break... Oh and all I heard while driving for the rest of the day was the sound of the sticky rubber on my tires picking up sand and small pebbles and flinging the under the car... You know the noise..ping, ping, ping!
I haven't powerbraked her for months, and I don't plan to anymore..it's a bad habit I'm trying to rid myself of. Half because it's too hard on the car, and half because I'm sick of replacing these freakin expensive Radial T/A's... I'm through with them though...onward to $30 tires for me!

BTW...you could eat my car up EASY with that 3.4....so now we both have something to gripe about. The sad part is with my tread mark too. My friend has a 65 Rustang with a 289...he tried to break my record that day.. He fell about 20 feet short... BUT all he did was pop it in 1, powerbrake it for like 2 seconds, and just keep full pedal and the car just smoked its way down the street..I HATE HIM....
my latest victory was against a newer
GTP supercharged
we only raced to like 65mph
his front end was close to my rear bumper...
i bet he wouldve taken me after that..
i dont street race unless the guy in the other car
gets on my nerves...
ive gotten pulled over even for a loud muffler
the cop let me off with a warning ...lol V6 with a
loud muffler...he didnt beleive me when i told
him it was a V6...
I DONt peel out at all .. tires are pretty expensive
I won most TBI's and LG4's ive raced with
most thirdgen V8s with a 2.73 rear end have a hard time with
me ...
i ran the 15.9 at a track before i ported and polished
the intake and put 19lb injectors in...

You got one fast sixer, man!
Can't believe you're that kind of ET as non-nitrous...I can't even imagine what this car would do on the juice! Talk about a sleeper....

thanx ....
i was thinking of running nitrous...
(a wet system can be bought for like $400 and would give me a lot more power...)
but i wanted this car to last me (my daily driver) a while
to go even faster i got my bike ...

Why not run just like a 40-50 hp shot of dry nitrous? Your engine sounds more than able to run that kind of shot, seeing as bone-stock engines can handle it..and a dry type system is pretty risk free...moreso than a wet system anyways..
well... firstly
finding a manifold adapter for our v6 is gonna
be a PITA
most of the 50hp systems for the imports (wet kits)
will work in our car...
i tried bidding on atleast 5 auctions on ebay lost
most of them..lol
now im outta money...trying to rebuild the bikes
carbs..and painting the bike...
my car primarily was my daily driver...as things
started to go bad i started putting performance
parts in it...
when i get some money im seriously considering it

True... Money is at the root of all problems, isnt it? Wish I were rich....like MEGA rich...then I'd take a thirdgen 3.1 and turbo it for ****s and giggles..
i'm currently working on a turbo project for the 3.4
but i'm waiting to build up the engine
i'm gonna bore it, port and polish
bigger injectors
better fuel regulator, and fuel pump.
then after all that i start on tossing a turbo in.... chances are... i go twins.... cuz i have a small turbo on hand..... so two small is good enough...
YAY!
can't wait to hear the blow off valve... hehe...::giggles like a school girl::
