3.4 dohc v6

im not converting the camaro to a FWD, im keeping it RWD. considering its a V6 block it should fit and mount in with ease. Instead of keeping it mounted sideways as it is noirmally i wanna turn it the way it should be lining up the tranny to the block like it is right now on my 2.8. the only thing is i dont know if i need to buy an adapter plate to adapt the bellhousing to the block. i also wanna go V6 because i will be keeping 3-4 hundred pounds off my camaro, especially outta the front end.

try searching about this......the only 3.4L V6 that will fit without too much of a hassle is the 3.4L out of some 93-95 camaro's and firebirds.

Upon my blown UP engine,
I examined several possiblities.
one was this option.
I was offered one "cheap, too".
One
ENGINE TOO WIDE
Find a pic to see why
Two
The timing/cam chain set up is a nightmare of reliability.
A 1993-1995 1/2 RRWD 3.4 mill was the right solution.
Good luck with your decision.

OF COURSE WE HAVE....
And with every new person that joins and has a broken engine and dreams of winning every race with this little V-6.....
ThirdGen.Org is now metioned in the latest Car Craft magazine as "An Authority" on 3rd Gen F Bodies
I gave up answering to Turbos & Superchargers.
Anyone that thinks like that from the first keystroke doesn't even care for a correct response.
I let them "dream on" their computer screens.
Notice no one has ever still posted a response on the Turbo or Supercharger set up they installed.
My favorite was the person that spent $3,000 on a little 2.8 rebuild.....
While ya can, ya can still rebuild your F body ride for fair change.
BUT Those days are ending very quickly, now....

If only we had a stamp to post for every new member that wants a turbo, supercharger, DOHC 3.4l, 3.8l swap, V8 swap, etc.

I don't even read the Super charger/Turbo charger possibilites threads. I am waiting for the day when someone actually turbocharges a 2.8l successfully into a thirdgen.

If I see that Twin Turbo Datsun one more time. . . . . . . . . . .I'm going to go crazy.

DOHC 3.4l, 3.8l swap, V8 swap, etc.
Forgot to add the 4.3!

Add the TH350 tranny upgrade, too.

Honest,
V-6 engine swaps
AND
upgrades to V-8,
I have to admit
is an honest question.
AT ONE TIME,
one could accomplish that with a flip of a cresent wrench and "be done"
My 1968 6 cylinder Camaro is perfect example of "what one heard and what ya can do" in the "old days".
Todays swap DO require a Q & A.
HEY THE SWAPPER IS TRYING TO DO SOME RESEARCH AND HOME WORK.
IF the thread author is quick enough, I'll throw out a simple solution.
We all "started somewhere" & we all "heard something about this idea".......
I still try to be kind and share the wealth.
Why let the crooked mechanics make all the money?
Why can't we help the car owner not get raked over the coal$$$!
I'm still aching to hear of one buying the NEW 3.4 crate mill & do the 2.8->3.4 Swap Boogie!
I want to hear that smile out in California!

Ked, the crate engine swap is what they recommend on the s10 board I attend.

They "down" the buying a camaro doaner.

I wanted the of the intake of the 3.4l, along with the lesser miles, and 35-40 more ponies, and privlage of no distributor.

I knew my swap would not be "flip of the craftsman" Done. I planned for it to take 6 months. Looked "into" it for 2 months before buying the engine.

I'm sure I will be all smiles when its done.

I'm aching for your smile when your PITA starting problem is finally solved.
Know how great these cars are, when they operate correctly?
My Firebird since the last ICM failure, it's running great.
No SES light because of the non-existent EGR problem.
I only need redo the Firebird front nose bodywork for better engine cooling.

yep, i am the person that spent $3000 on his 2.8 rebuild. if i could do it all over again, the 355 would be in the car now and i wouldn't be fighting with stupid computer problems like i am now cause the 355 would have been non computerized.

Your Sixer ride,
Can't ya sell it, profitably, then find a good candidate for your V-8, a car without computers?
An earlier 3rd Gen V-8 or V-6 carb'd ride,
Slip in all the V-8 stuff ya seek to use for the upgrade?
