My new times

Got a chance to get the new car to the track today for SLP's Customer Appreciation Day and was actually disappointed. It was ~40 degrees so traction SUCKED and there was a STRONG wind blowing.

I still haven't learned this car completely yet, in fact this was the first WOT 2-3 shift I've let it do, but here's the times I pulled

R/T .562
60' 2.280
330' 6.416
1/8 9.863
MPH 69.63

1000 12.775
1/4 15.302
MPH 86.63

1-2 scratched but 2-3 shifted really slow.

Com'n!
Reaction time is damn decent!
For a vehicle with lots of body flex and the extra heaviness of a convert, that's NOTHING to truly complain about!
Lucky you got more track time!
And drove home to tell about it.
NO COMPLAINTS!
Tell us you raced top down!

In 40 degree weather, the top was up. I was at SLP's Race Day, I don't think they woulda let me go top down anyways.

I do have SFC's sitting here in my room, just need to go put them on.

OH, I left my AC on too during that run.

My fans won't come on unless it's on, and since I was sitting in the staging lane (3 hrs...not all of that running though) I had it on. I was finally so excited when I got to the front, I forgot to turn it off. Shouldn't have affected the times tho considering it should turn off at WOT

You didn't wrack up
You drove car home
A better day then some at the Daytona 500!

I see no reason why they wouldn't allow ya to drive topless. What better way to watch competition!
As long as ET's above 13.00, it should be allowed.
I do recall the NHRA says for 1/4 mile times below 13.00 ya need a roll bar for converts.
I've driven topless in below freezing.
It got so cold overnight and I forgot to raise the top on my old '66 Corvette
The fabric wouldn't stretch, without ripping.
It was that moment I discovered how GOOD a GM Heater/Defroster system truly is!

I wish the 500 wasnt cut down to about 300miles due to rain. DId you see the Ryan Newman wreck? That looked scary and thank the man upstairs that the rear end didnt go up into the stands. It was a good day for my fav driver too Kyle Petty finished in 13th after they called the race due to rain. It was good to see Michael W finally getting to celebrate a 500 win without horrible news like he got in 01.

Yeah, I saw the race and wreck.
I almost thought I also saw the driveshaft flying around, too.
Wish I could have gotten that rear axle as a souviner, as I coulda used the brake system!

With all the "new anti-flip over stuff (roof flaps)", I was rather surprised, the car did do flips.

I was surprised Kyle did so well.
I thought he was outta race due to technicality.....

I still recall seeing that Dale Earnhardt moment, passing in a blink of an eye.....
