ground wires on the back of the engine?? I always forgot them on my s10.
Fuel lines
pulling tranny with?? Any cables, mounts, etc.
Make sure radiator is outta way.
Have people watching, even if it is females, not hard to spot "um, something still attached here"
Take it slow, and have fun

Dude.. don't knock the females.. I had a chick under my car with me for the installation half of my tranny swap, and honestly, if it weren't for her, that tranny wouldn't be in there yet. She's the one who got the sob into the pilot, whereas I failed miserably.. plus she crawled out wearing about 3x more grime than me.. rawr. chicks that aspire to be chevy mechanics are sexy

OO, don't get me wrong, mine has done her share of work too. She was the one on the engine hoist grunting and tugging it out on my engine swap. Helped clean parts for swap. She also took the upper intake off the car to change fuel injectors, and few other things. She sanded on her new hood, helped bolt in on, sanded the hatch down, she just didn't care to much for the paint smell.
Its very rare to find a female that is willing to do these things. But when you do, :lala: :lala: , makes life that much better!

My woman tightened up the ground bolt on that swap I helped with... but she won't get near -my- car!
That's not a blow to her; there's only two other people I let touch my car- my dad and my best friend. Everyone else just gets to watch.
1986CamaroSC, are you snapping some pictures? Have fun!

The 2.8 is out now. no complications on the removal but the motor is ****ed, spun a bearing and destroyed crank.. so a new motor is in store.. I just don't know whether it would be worth my while to drop in another 2.8 for this year and do the V8 swap next year or go straight to the 8 now.. and drive the.....golf.....all summer..
as soon as the 2.8 hit the floor a chair fell from the rafters and landed exactly in the engine bay, never hit the paint, windshield or anything, it was pretty funny... anyways here are some pics from the past couple days...

Engine choice is up to you. But don't get ked85 going, HEHE.
Looks good, but the chair doesn't belong in the engine bay :P
Also, that car appears to be in great shape considering your in canada, and most of them I see have rust holes thru the sides.

id take the time to strip the engine bay completely and repaint everything. the body of the car looks like its got a great paint job and body, dont let that engine bay look like that in the finished product. at least do the firewall and the radiator bracket.
