..
Go a few futher than that and replace the rocker arms. If you need new injectors, go for it, but otherwise, leave them alone, they're expensive.

By 'doing them'....do you mean, getting them cleaned? If your car has any kind of miles on it and they haven't been replaced or anything, a cleaning never hurts. If you're talking about upgrading...well, the question becomes, do you need to?

Speaking of valve covers, where can you get new better looking ones (and still cheap ) for V6?

hit up salvage yards for used covers, cheap.

Otherwise, eldabrock (sp?) makes some.

If you can zip 'em out to Rich at http://www.cruzinperformance.com , he does a damn good job. But you'd need another car to drive in the meantime...

Get some valve covers from a 2.8 Fiero and Paint to match.

Did fieros come in 3.1L too? Does it matter what Liter-size car they came from? On the other hand, it would be nice to have some shine on the engine, so is there any aftermarket covers for a 3.1 V6?

I *believe* they only put the 2.8's in Fieros....they may have discontinued production when the 3.1's were introduced, I'm not really sure. I've just never personally seen a 3.1 Fiero. The 2.8/3.1 valvecovers should be identical and interchangeable.

I believe aftermarket covers ARE made, but they may run a little pricey and there might be height issues... Have you considered having your factory ones hot-tanked and chromed?

Ok, so I'm starting to like the idea of putting on some Fiero covers and I found a pair on e*bay that I'll be watching for the next few days. I still have one question.. how did you paint them? Is there special paint or a protector to cover them with so the paint doesn't peel or flake off?

I dont know what these other guys used, I'm sure they can tell you..... I imagine some good engine enamel will hold up fine though. Valvecovers don't get that hot, but the engine enamel paint will just insure that in case it does get hot under there, the paint is gonna get baked. As long as it's prepped VERY good, it shouldnt come off unless it's like physically hit or something. I *think* they make spray-on clear coat, but I'm not sure if that's intended for higher temp applications.

clean them real good and paint them like Nixon said. Or, get them powder coated. powder coating is one of my favorite methods since i got my powder coating setup!
