Gas Mileage Went Down Big Time
ive got a 1992 v6 firebird ... so the other day my one of my vacume hoses blew off and when i went to put it back on i figured out my distributer was loose as crap so i tighted in back down and all the sudden my car seemed to not want to start ... so i knew it must have screwed up the timing and i lifted up the cap to see what it looked like before i bothered to mess it with it and it looked like crap as well as the rouder so i changed both the cap and the rouder and spark plugs ... but when i went to change the spark plugs i moved my EGR and changed everything ... started the car back up ... reved it a little ... and my egr was steaming ... so i loosened it back up thinking a bolt was in crooked and tightend it back down ... stopped steaming ... and now all of the sudden ive got really bad gas mileage ... i had about 3/4 of a tank and after about 30 miles im down to half .. i usually get about 80 for the quater ... any opinions on what might be wrong?

Timing. Unless you checked it when you tightened down the dist. then it's going to be way off.

Moved from TPI to V6.
Since you haven't mentioned checking your timing after that loose distributor, yes, making sure your timing is spec is #1 priority. Don't forget to disconnect the EST connector when you set it. Searching the V6 board should yield at least 3 "how to set your timing" threads.
