i just started my rebuild on my 2.8, i got a whole new kit and im boring .30 over, and possibly an oversized cam, im looking for a cheap turbo i can convert to work for my 2.8, can anybody help me out. it doesnt matter if it needs rebuilt or not.

 

you could try ebay

or possibly one out of a junkyard off some turboed truck or supra or somethin.

 

yeah i was looking on ebay and they were all around $150-$200, but was hoping somebody hear maybe had one a little cheaper or one that needed rebuilt or something

ebay is gonna be your best bet to find something, if someone has a cheap turbo on here its becuase they found it cheap and plan to use it. then again we all plan to use one at some point....sssoooommmmeeeee day lol

Yep.

This has been asked numerous times and always has the same result, the OP thinks that adding a turbo is quite easy and usually gets all pissed off when no one can say "use XXX turbo", because there are so many variables when adding a turbo to even two identical cars.

 

my bad i wasnt trying to get everyone worked up, i propably should have used the search. what i meant by my post is if anybody really had one to sell me thats what i was really trying to get out of this.

 

stuff like that belongs in the "parts wanted" board. people with stuff to sell check there. also check the "parts for sale" section to see if anyone has posted one for sale recently.

My recommendation, though, is either a) ebay, or b) find a good You-Pull-It around your location, and see if you can find a turbo off a Dodge 2.2/2.5L, or a Toyota Supra (CT26 ftw)
