Re: 91 RS Motor Mounts

PITA! You gotta romove both bolts holding the motor in, then remove the distrubutor...or at least the cap. Then you can jack the engine up enough to get to it.

I didnt remove the dizzy when I did it on my v6. But did have to jack that side up. Long nosed pliers, magnetic finder, and some other normally odd tools are your friend.

I've pulled 4 of the v6 engines. easy job. are u pulling the tranny w/it? The only tricky part for me was getting the torque arm to line back up to tranny. the distibuter should come off. the cap that is. watch out for the temp sensor on the passinger side of motor, by the firewall, i've boke 2 of them pulling the motor out. good luck

Your pulling the whole motor out to swap motor mounts? Thats alot of extra work IMO.

Re: 91 RS Motor Mounts

no, i'm not pulling the motor to change the mounts. just gonna jack it up and replace them. i can see where i will have a clearance issue with the dizzy cap, so that'll have to come off. thanks for all the input guys!

Re: 91 RS Motor Mounts

as soon as im back home and near a hoist, im looking into putting my poly mounts in that ive had for over a year. i tried to one time, but only had a total of 4 hours to do both, and its not an easy task, i ended up putting it all back together and not getting it done, lol. youre gonna need a long extension to get at the nuts on the bottom side of the frame THROUGH the coil spring, along with a swivel of some sort.

Re: 91 RS Motor Mounts

I used a ceiling hoist to lift the engine up and then took the motor mounts off. I didn't remove anything at all to do it. Kind of a pain, but really not that bad.
