punch the gas and stalls momentarily
like the title says whenever im at a stop and i press the gas pedal to try and take off quick the car seems like it dies... everything cuts off the ses light comes on for a split second then the car comes back and continues like normal... i just noticed this and i dont know where to start... the car is a 91 camaro with a 3.1 with 130xxx miles... thanks for any help
Re: punch the gas and stalls momentarily
i had an 81 firebird that was a carbed 305 that would do the same thing, when i'd try to floor it, it would act like it completely died for a split second, and then GONE!! it would haul ***** after that weird little cutout. i always wondered if a previous owner had maybe put a cam in it that wasn't made for low rpms...

Re: punch the gas and stalls momentarily
does the SES light come on because the revs are too low?? or is it seeing a problem ? can you check the codes ?
id personally say its fuel related from previous experiences with other cars doing the same thing.

Had the same problem...turned out to be that he MAP sensor was hooked up incorrectly. So, definitely check your vacuum lines!
