Can 4.3 headers be made to fit the 2.8?
Can 4.3 headers be made to fit the 2.8?
I'm assuming, of course, that they don't already fit...I have a line on some at a wrecker, could probably be had for cheap. I think if I were to pull the manifolds off, and then kinda try to bold a manifold to a header, and use heat to bend appropriately. IOW, put the two "gasket" sides together, and then use heat and bend to make fit correctly. Has anyone ever done this?
Honest, I'm being real, it will not work as well as you would like it to.
Honest.
Like an In-Line 6 Cylinder compared to a 2.8 Six Cylinder, just the number of pistons are the same.
It is that different.

How? There are three exhaust ports on 2.8, and 3 on the 4.3. Shouldn't be too hard to bend them to different spacings, IMHO. Just getting some opinions here, though, so thanks for yours ;-) The only problem I could think of is the exhaust ports themselves being larger than the header holes, in which case, problems would be occurring.

dude
get some 3.4 headers there are a few companies that make them
the main reason your idea will not work is because the 4.3 is essentially a 350 with 2 cylinders knocked off

Not to mention that since the bore of a 4.3 is 4" and the 2.8 is 3.5", the cylinders of the 4.3 are more widely spaced which means that the block is longer, which means that the heads are longer than the 2.8. "Nailing jelly to a tree" is a great analogy!
