Thought I'd found headers for the 2.8, but...

I went to Super Summit IX, at Summit Racing Equipment Saturday, and there was a guy showing his '86 Firebird. Really sweet car, everything looked showroom fresh or better, and I notice that he's got a set of chrome headers on a 2.8 MPFI V6 (nice looking headers, looked like SLP or Edelbrock V8 headers only for a V6) so I had to ask him where they came from. Turns out he bent, welded, and chromed them himself. He said he modeled them after SLP headers. He also said he would never go through the headache of doing it again.

It'd be more money than I'd spend, I could tell you that.

Bending isn't the expensive part (it would be the same as bending a custom exhaust) it's the tuning of each tube that gets expensive, and complicated. So first you have to find someone with header fabricating experience (what you are really paying for is their knowledge of tuning header pipes), then you have to have some very deep pockets full of cash
