Enter your info(colaberation of the fastest ENGINE MATCHING V6)
I am curious to what is the fastest 1982-1992 F-body car. This applies to engine code matching only, so 2.8L or 3.1L equipted cars. Also I want some slips/proof of the performance. Mainly 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile times only.
The reason I bring this up is becuse as of now im at a 13.36@102Mph one 12psi of boost. With larger fuel injectors on the way and the alky equipted now, Im looking for a 12 sec pass in the next few weeks. It it takes more boost and tuning then I'll get there. I would think that with my current set up and finally being able to jack the boost to 14-16psi, Id be able to make a sucessful/safe 12 second pass and drop it in the record books.
Im also curious that if I get it on video with a slip is there somewhere It can be recorded so that it is indeed one of the fastest Engine Code Matching V6 thirdgen F-bodys ever recorded.
I know this is racing oriented and this is the V6 board but this in my mind is directly related to the V6 community and Id like to see what is the fastest V6 Thirdgen out there(once again no...3.4L/3.5L hybrids although the fastest I've seen those is 12 seconds).
Project89 you might as well toss your stuff on here(slips/videos V6 ONLY) along with anyone else that has made 12-14sec passes so that I can colaberate this info and hopefully get it into some record books of somesort somewhere. Im almost positive that there has to be 2 runs with the car to break a record of any sorts with VIDEO and matching timeslip proof only. I need to read up on it but either way, I wana see if anyone else has a true ironheaded 60* 2.8-3.1L pushing the limits into the records on a Thirdgen F-body, or if possible I may have the fastest 3.1L Thirdgen F-body once I get into the 12s and so on down the road...

i wont post mine since they my combo is not original to the car originally my car was a 2.8 i would post the slips for that car but unfortunatly i no longer have acess to the email account i had back then which is were i have the slips.
though just to be sure i will browse threw my photobucket when i get a chance and see if i have a copy of them in there somewere,it might take me a while though as i think my photobucket has grown to about 3,000+ pictures atm
but fast u have just a tad more then a full second to go before u take any records :P

Re: Enter your info(colaberation of the fastest ENGINE MATCHING V6)
Well I'd like to see what time I need to get twards. Im just happy that I will have my fueling set up right finally/meth to protect the engine. I truly do not now what the car will be able to do with more boost 14,15,16psi..... It might be fast or it might break.
I know my car isn't fast at all compared to Overall V6 F-body cars as I know there is one 11.5x sec one out at our local track. 2000 3.8L with a supercharger, but still I'd like to get everyone that is on this V6 Forum to colaborate and set up what is the fastest 2.8/3.1L Iron headed Thirdgen with some proof of course.

take a bone stock 3.1 it would take 7 more or so psi to make as much power as u are, just cause it has higher boost presure dosent mean its at nmore risk for blowing up its still making the same amount of hp
if i had a spare set of heads and the time to port them id donate a set to u just to get u going faster with less boost

Don't take this the wrong way, but there aren't many if indeed any(none that I currently know of anyway) fast 2.8 or 3.1 cars, most of the guys around here that are serious about v6 power, swapped out for a 3.4, or in one guy's case a 3.5. Allen was decently quick with a 3.1, he ran 14s if I recall correctly. Pilsbry and dave have both run 12s I think with turbochargers, but pilsbry has a 3.4, dave I believe had a 3.1. The guy with the 3.5 and ITBs is running 13s if I recall, but his setup is finicky and he is still dialing it in last I knew of.

i dont belive pilsbury has run his car yet, his car is deffinalty capable of low 12's though, fast should hit 11's no problem even with the under k setup if he ever gets a 2 step controller

Yeah, he might not have, I haven't really been around lately, been pretty busy, and haven't been doing much with the camaro. Should be attempting to run it pretty soon though, I just started up on the wiring again, since my Talon is waiting on parts, which are waiting on money.

Actually 13s is about the benchmark for a decent performing car atm.
"The 2010 Camaro SS has a 0-60mph time of 4.6 Seconds and a Quarter Mile time of 13.3 @ 108mph with the automatic, and 13.4 @ 108 with the manual transmission."

Yeah, I did a 14.97 @ 89.95 mph all motor (iron heads, too). It was fast when I did it... now there's people on here with hybrids and turbos and all...
edit: that was with the 3.1. not the original one to the car but, from another f-body
