does anyone have a 3rd gen with aluminum butterflys?
i would like to see how it would look before i go buy new set of tires
for mine.

Re: BEST looking 3rd gen firebird & camaro rims
when i was a teen in late 70s we called em american butterflys.
i had a set of 15x10 rears,and 14x7 1/2 fronts on my first 69
camaro.
they call em rough cut butterflys now....don't think you can
even get the actual wheels like i have now.
the ones in link are almost the same except there 2 piece.
mine are one piece i think?

here is link to a picture.
they call it 402 libre,or 200s,or s200?

Oh, you mean "Daisies".
I may have a pic, I'll look for it.
*edit*
Found it... the wheels are just sitting in front of the car, but you get the idea.

blackiroc,
never heard them called daisys before.
are yours chrome,or polished?
how do you get such big pictures?
well,i put them on to see if i liked.
i believe i'll keep em on awhile.
don't laugh at those itty bitty tires in front.
it's all i could find at the time.
it needs a set of 205,or 215 in front.

In the pic, the rear wheel is a newer polished aluminum and the front wheel is one of the original chrome ones from a while back. I actually sold them a few years ago... wish I would have kept them.

They look great on there, I really like the '88 little spoiler too. For the picture, I just copied the link from my Photobucket account and pasted it in my post.

i gave 1000.00 for the car and put a fuel pump on it.
the motor feels really strong.is it possible to have an ho in a sport coupe?
it factory 5-speed.
the seats had covers on em,and look new underneath except one wear spot on drivers in normal getting in out place.
the dash is a cracked corner is all.
i thought about trying to repair with black silicone.
it's got a small dent in pass quarter where someone backed into him.
you can see in picture.
and he said he paid 1700.00 for the crappy paint job when he hit a deer with pass fender.
they didn't even replace fender, just tried to repair.
i am gonna find out who fixed it and let em know how sorry a job they did
on the boys car.
he got took for 1700.00....seen maaco do lots better for 600.00.
jd
i tried the lay up wheels against my 89 rs before i put em on my 88.
these were 14x8...only ones i had tires on at time.

Re: BEST looking 3rd gen firebird & camaro rims
Just picked up a set of mint Camaro SS twin-spoke wheels for $170 today off of Craigslist. Needless to say, I'm VERY happy. I'll be painting them black to match the new paintjob.
My decision was actually in part because of this thread, I just didn't catch any cars that had the SS wheels in gloss black.

Re: BEST looking 3rd gen firebird & camaro rims
Sometimes, the stock wheels dont look so bad, but if you ask me, the ZR1's are always a safe bet and Fikses cant be beat. Too bad the price is terrible!
Which rims do you think would look good on a white third gen?

Anyone got ADR Sterlings or similar looking rims? Having difficulty finding rims that look like this with the correct bolt circle. The only ones I find are like custom-foose-superduper-120000$-pr-rim types.

Those look like the AR Casino player rims I had on my grand prix, not sure if those are made for rear wheel drive cars though.
Re: BEST looking 3rd gen firebird & camaro rims
I have a set, i havnt mounted them yet(needs spacers) i had them on my bimmer before I got rid of it. They mount up fine, just look foolish without spacers to push them out a bit.

b-the-??? I saw you have a Third Gen with 17x10 and 17x12 rims i was wondering is what type of backspace did you have one them as im going with tt black m and its 17x8 front with 4.5 backspace and 18x10 rear with 6.75 backspace. Was wondering if anyone has that setup if yes post a pix or send to email carranzafermin@aol.com . Or if any one knows please let me know the information thanks.
Like Big IROC's?
I'm not trying to flame anybody else's ride, but I saw this car on craigslist and I just had to share. In my opinion, it takes big rims (even IROC's) too far.

Re: BEST looking 3rd gen firebird & camaro rims
Hello All,
I am currently in Afghanistan and have limited internet time, especially during the holiday period. I managed to make it through the first 13 pages of this thread and didn't see the information I was looking for. I may be able to get some '03 Z06 wheels (17x9.5 and 18.10.5). From what I was able to read, I will need spacers to get them to fit on my '91 RS coupe. Any idea where I can get them? I may also have to "massage" the wheel well in the rear. Does anyone have these wheels already? If so, what size rubber did you have mounted?

Wow, I tried to comment, but it kept coming out with a ban somewhere. Someone just buy the car so it wont be adding to another stereo-type. Lord knows we have enough of that to deal with as it is.

He left the wheel center 16" and had the lip made into 17x10 I believe. Someone else had true 18's made but they didn't come cheap
Re: BEST looking 3rd gen firebird & camaro rims
Sorry I meant the older RS ones as seen in my sig, not the flat 91-92 style. Those are Boyd Coddington wheels. Nice, but the 91-92s aren't my style.

I would not mind seeing a set of 17's, preferably in the stock gray finish myself.

Maybe solid black center caps with McGard black chrome lugs.
