This thread will probably never die!
Does anyone have these Corvette wheels installed on a Trans Am?

At around $800 a set at Hawks, it makes a great looking budget wheel. I think it would probably look pretty cool on my car too.

I've been looking for a nice set of affordable 18" wheels for awhile so that I can install a big break kit. I think this just might fit the bill. I think it's TPiroc's red Camaro that has the chrome wheels like these that looks awesome. I'm hoping these wheels will look equally awesome on my car
I love the HPR5's, but it's hard to beat $800 for a set of 18" wheels!

These are actually a pretty decent price though at around a grand for a set of 19" wheels at Hawks. I'm just afraid they will look too big. I think 18" is the optimum size for the 3rd gens.
What do you guys think?
Dave

Re: BEST looking 3rd gen firebird & camaro rims
Has anybody tried some of the Rocket Racing Rims on their car? I think they look really nice but they dont make them custom and with my custom axle setup im kickin myself for not making it longer to accomodate a larger variety of rims.
for now im stuck with some 15x10 cragar quick trick ones with a inch backspace on some 29x11 goodyears pics soon.

Once again.....It has been done & pics do exist on TGO.
You understand why it is frustrating when people ask questions that have already been answered & the pics exist?

Re: BEST looking 3rd gen firebird & camaro rims
Lets get back on track or this Tread will get locked. Lots of good info in here. And yea 5th Gen wheels look good. It probably pretty hard to find 1 5th gen wheel pic on TGO using the search button.
All the good looking wheel options that don't require adapters are big $$$. Personally I got Zr1 wheels and they look sharp. But would like to get away from adapters/spacers.

Agreed, i'm getting some new wheels that require 4th gen offset...just an additional cost to upgrading the wheels. Nice wheels plus adapters are a must for us unfortunately, or pay a large amount...

Re: BEST looking 3rd gen firebird & camaro rims
These are American Racing ARE-398 15X7 rims from 1987-1993. The front center caps fell off back in October and I can not find replacements for the front center caps. If anyone can find me another set of these or similar that would be appreciated.

If This Is For Best LOOKING, Then For A 3rd Gen Camaro I Would Say You Can't Look Any Better Than Iroc Rims. Performance Wise These Would Be Heavy But For Looks When It Comes 3rd Gens You Can't Beat The Iroc Look! Especially If The Camaro Is An Iroc-Z Itself. Stock Hood, Stock Spoiler & Iroc Rims Is A Must, If You Change Any Of Those You're Knocking Down Points On Looks & Originality. That's Just My Opinion Though.

Wheels in my sig were mounted on 3 series bimmer. You'll need spacers to make them work on 3rd gens.

No you don't but 5 series w an et around 20 to 25 will fit better. My 88 has ET36 M6 wheels, they fit without issues but don't fill out the rear fenders nicely so a wider or ET20 wheel would be a better option there

On the fronts I had to use a spacer because the wheel was hitting the strut. The back ones can fit without spacers but it looks retarded tucked in

I have et 35s on the front, they don't hit. They're only 8" wide though so a wider rim might hit

I'll have to check the clearance on mine, but yours being only half an inch wider, I could swear there was more room. What ET are yours?

Will IROC rims fit on the 86 model without spacers and all that......I really like KingsHustleLA's rims and my car is midnight blue and I think that those rims would just set it off.......there are a lot of nice rims on here but to me the chrome/polished IROC 18 rims are just a clean set of rims......anyways any advice would be great thanks
