What size rear tire and rim are you running?

 

I'm quite pleased with how my wheels turned out.

They are 15x8 wheels, with a 275/65/15 tire. Those wheels are designed for a 4th gen Monte, so they stick out a tad bit.

 

What kind of wheel & tire combo & spring drop are you running?

I'm running coilovers on all 4 corners. Fender arches are about 26" off the ground. Hankook ventus tires...295/30/19 rears and 275/30/19 fronts.

So thats a 29" tall tire right? I was thinking of going from a 26" tall to a 275-60-15 which is 28".

If you had the correct backspacing, would your tire rub?

So many nice wheels, how does one choose? I'm riding a black 'Roc with gold trim, (stock appearance, stock gold iroc rims) and was thinking about black wheels with gold trim. Anyone riding on gold w/black trim or black w/gold trim. Have thought about NASCAR style wheels and painting a little gold trim. Anyone seen that style of wheel on a third gen. Haven't driven it yet, but hopefully it's pretty decent. It's setup pretty stiff though, as I set it up in hopes of doing some road racing.

That's them. I love them, but I wish they were a little lighter. I was hoping for around 16 lbs, but they came in around 24 lbs. BUT, I don't even know if you can get a 19 that wide that's that light...so I might be doing good (without spending over 5k).

I have my hood...it's propped up in the garage (just got it back), but my car is at the dyno getting tuned...so I haven't put it on. I just went with an ultra light RS style hood. I wanted to keep the Z28 hood (tired of seeing all the usual fiberglass hoods), but no one makes a light one.

Yes, tell us more please. Great combo with that paint color. Looks more like a TA than a Z28, for some reason, and it looks awesome.

That SooB reminds me of a guy down in Arizona who builds "Viper Killer" STI's. He builds them to 700-800 horsepower. That much power with all wheel drive would be hard to beat.

Still, I like spinning the rears from time to time

 

I still can't take my eyes off of these darn C5 deep dish wheels.

One, they look outstanding, and they look like they were made for our cars.
Two, at $477.00 for the whole set, I don't see how these can be beat.

That's good to know! I think I was more disappointed than anything else.

 

$477 is a bargain. Just a shame you have to use spacers, which I feel detracts from the look slightly.

 

After a while, you don't really notice them. It just looks like your hubs are on steroids.
If you run a 4th gen rear, you don't have to use them on the back.
Spacers are a necessary evil, unless you want to pay triple that for some nice looking rims.

 

Somehow I missed this and it's been AWHILE now.. Haha. Anyways, I'm shopping for tires right now.. That's why I'm actually on here making sure I want these wheels on the car before I commit. I used your pictures for reference on deciding what I want to do and I hope these turn out good on the car and color scheme.

I don't know if you remember my SS wheels that I painted, but they will be going on my car when it's painted in the next month. The car will be a purple pearl color that looks "black" until the sun hits it.
