18" Speedline Alessio Build... Come on in!
To begin with, I bought a set of 18" Aston Martin DB7 Speedline Alessios. They are 18X8 ET14.5 5x120.65... Good wheels to begin with, not exactly cheap though. The factory specs are:
1.75" Lips + .25" crushring
6" Barrel
= 8" wheel
If I were to run them as is, I would need a 1" spacer, and the tire size would be a weak 245. That of course is no fun, and who wants to run spacers???
I ordered a new set of 2.75" lips for all 4 wheels, which will make them a square 18x9". I am deciding if I want to order 7.25" barrels for the rear to make they a staggered 18x10.25 and 18x9... Barrels aren't exactly cheap though, and I have 4 new 275 Toyo R888's and 2 new 265 Toyo R1R's, which makes me want to stay 18x9 on all four.
I have another set I might let go if anyone is interested in building their own set.
Pictures to come soon!

I'll post pictures this weekend when I take the wheels apart! Looking to moving back to the states in May so I can play with my Iroc.

Here are a few teasers... I'll hopefully spend some time pulling the wheels apart today or tomorrow. I've pulled all the bolts, just need to take a few whacks with a rubber mallet and find a powdercoating shop for the faces... I already know exactly my plans with the wheels.
New lips came in!
Wife wasn't as happy about them as I was!

Yeah... I have 2 sets of them in 18x8. They come off an Aston Martin DB7, which are a bit more common out here in England. I have bought 2 sets so far, and am watching another set on Ebay.
I'm just going to be building one of the sets in this thread, and will hold onto my set in 18x8 for a rainy day, or an offer that gets my attention.
It's pretty convenient that I just need 1" wider lips so I don't have to run any spacers, so I am pretty pleased with that... Also a good gig since I was able to buy a set of 4 new Toyo R888 in 275/35r18 for 500 shipped.

Re: 18" Speedline Alessio Build... Come on in!
As promised... I spend some time taking them apart.
Basically I found a killer deal on 3 wheels, so I had to find a 4th wheel, which is on its way to me now from the states. Ended up paying more for that one wheel, than I did for 3 complete wheels... but that's just how it goes sometimes. Still pretty happy with what I am at now. I figure I can still recoup some money when I strip the 1.75" lips, polish them, and sell them.

Re: 18" Speedline Alessio Build... Come on in!
I saw the rest of the parts came through the mail, but I wasn't able to pick them up. I'll grab them tomorrow. My brand new Makita die grinder broke, so I have to send it in... In the meanwhile, I ordered a used Chicago one that isn't a variable speed, but it did come into today. I'm going to try to see how quickly I can strip a lip using a flapper wheel.
My Tumbler came in today too, so I am going to toss some bolts in it and see what happens. I know I have to strip the paint off the heads, but I will run them through to see what happens.
I have a set of Work Equips that are 18" as well, but I am not sure what my plan is with them. I still have these Work Equips and Epsilon Mesh I need to restore. I think the tumbler is going to be a great investment.

I think I am just going to pain the wheels instead of powder coating them. I would rather save some money and make it easier on myself if I decide to change the color in the future. I've just been extremely busy. I am moving back to the states in a couple months, so wheels aren't my biggest priority right now.

Update
House was all packed up and on its way back to the states. So I won't have any of my stuff for another 2 months... Probably won't have any updates for a while.

I haven't finished them. Been working on other projects and selling stuff, so these aren't a huge priority. I just need to have the faces powder coated before I assemble them.

Re: 18" Speedline Alessio Build... Come on in!
Updates will be coming! I am dropping them off at the powdercoaters on saturday! Gold face, polished lips, black inner barrels. I'm not in a huge hurry since my engine is out, I have some hammering and welding to do in the engine bay... and add a cam to the LS1.
These are built to fit without any spacers in 18x9. I am also going to have the guy mount and balance my 18" Toyo R1R tires in 265/35r18.
If anyone is interested in building their own set, I have another set in 18x8 ET 14.5 I would sell. PM me.

Wheels have been dropped off, along with the tires. The guy send me pictures of the powder coat colors so I could get the best match... He has ordered it and should be starting work on them soon. I told him no big hurry as the engine is out of the car and wont be back together in 2-3 months. But they are in work!

Just for the sake of stopping majority of the PMs I’m getting. My spare set is long gone. I had them restored and the shop shipped them to the wrong address and I never saw them again.
I have been tossing around the idea of selling these gold ones... but they aren’t cheap. My whole point was to run wheels other people won’t have.

I will be removing the wheels and selling them without tires for $2500 + shipping if anyone is interested. Not in a huge rush to sell as the wheels are awesome. Just finished up my new set of wheels for the Iroc to change up the look a bit.
