Post here about your camaro and firebird projects.
I will first start out with mine I don't know if this is the right category for this but I thought this would be a cool thread for people to post about there project cars or even finished!
All my friends that ever have been behind the wheel in it have loved it and never dissed my v6 since
I got my car December 8th 2010 for here in Penticton I was looking for F Bodys since I have been in love with the body style since I was 5 haha then I came across a grey 1988 Camaro on Kijijiji I gave the person a call it was listed for 1800 we got them down to 1000 since they just wanted the car gone since they didn't have enough money to invest in the car anymore since the owner was going to school. I was sure in luck most of the parts on the car are all brand new:
Clutch and Pressure Plate
Rebuilt Tranny
New Spark Wires
New Struts and Springs
New Exhaust
New Fuel Tank and Pump.
Things that I have done myself:
Brand New Infinity Reference 4x6s in the dash (150w)
Brand New Dual 6x9s (150w) soon to be replaced with 300w Infinitys
Brand New Kenwood Deck
New Fuel Filter
New Heater Core
My future plans for the car are a new storm grey paint job, replace hood and trunk supports, repair rips in seats, new armrests, new steering coloum housing (Car was hotwired before I purchased it.)
This car is my first car and I love it too pieces I always baby it and I am very gentle with it until I hit the highway and a straight stretch. That little V6 sure surprised me.

Re: Post here about your camaro and firebird projects.
well lets see, my Fbody project started in 2010 after my best friend was killed in Afghan. I wanted to get a project car to help his dad take his mind off his death. I have always loved the Firebirds, specially the 3rd gens, ever since i rode in a 89 V6 back when i was 15. So i started to just browse across craigslist and found my 15th anniversary Trans am sitting in gaithersburg MD, which is about 2 hours from here. I figured if i was going to get a project car why not get a collectors car that will be worth something. It was sitting under a tree for 2 years, i only paid 1k for it so im happy. So its currently waiting in storage until income tax so i can finally get her on the road. Its all numbers matching, never been wrecked, no rust, i found the build sheet under the passenger seat completely intact.
What it needs
rod bearings blown in motor, complete overhaul. Needs new carpet and headliner and the bolsters for the front seats need refinished. Ill prob get the steering wheel, shifter, and brake lever recovered, along with my center console lid. It truly is a diamond in the rough , all it needs is some TLC and money and itll look and run good again.

Re: Post here about your camaro and firebird projects.
my project started about a month ago when i traded my 4wheeler for my 86 firebird which apon further inspection reveled that i have a trans am with a non factory motor and that about 4 other car were used to built this one.
today i started sanding down the hood as i had noticed some body filler and turns out the hood it junk there about a half inch of filler in places.(glad the car came with an extra hood complete rear hatch an a front and rear bumper cover).
so now sometime this week or weekend im gonna be switching the hood and getting the spoiler off the extra hatch to install on the car.
more updates will follow as i make progress and ill try to get pics of the build

Car: 83 Z28, 85 Burb

Re: Post here about your camaro and firebird projects.
I picked up an 83 Z28 a few months ago. It's a T-top 305 5spd car with messed up clutch linkage. The PO installed an HEI, a possi disk break rear end from an 88 IROC, and most of the interior from that same IROC. The rear brake were not hooked up. Up til now I've converted it to a hydraulic clutch, got the back brakes hooked up and bled, installed a cowl induction hood, rebuilt an Edelbrock quadrajet for it and I removed the wiring and ECM. I just need to do an oil change, swap and tune the carb and should be driving her soon. Yesterday I picked up 2 good fenders and a non a/c heater box from the wrecking yard. This summer I'm going to treat the floor pans so they don't rust and repair the t-top roof...the only rust/ cancer in the car is around the t-tops. The floor pans only have surface rust right now.

Re: Post here about your camaro and firebird projects.
My build has been done over the winters and am currently on my 3rd winter with my build. I drive the car to car shows and muscle car meets in summers so my first and 2nd winter were about looks. Link to the post is here ----> https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/memb...aro-build.html
This winter I pulled my engine so I can fab up some delete panels for my firewall and engine framework to cover holes showing the inner fenders. I am also building a new 400HP 350 to put back into the car. A link to this thread can be found here ----->https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...ect-400hp.html
I'm thinking I might even redo my stereo..... My wife is getting back more tax money than we had originally predicted!!! hahah We spent all our tax money last year on house stuff.. so this year was car money... good for me

Bought my car 5 months ago for 400 bucks, as a roller. No motor, in pieces. So far I've dropped a in 355, new clutch, seats, and a bunch of other things. Almost Road worthy! I have a build thread on here some of you might have seen.
