454 Big Block swap, need help making sure I get the right parts!

Hey,
I'm getting close to finishing up my 454 big block swap into my 1992 RS. I need to know about a few parts, like what ones I will need for this swap. I've done research but I'm weary of buying the wrong parts. I'm going to run a stock 454 out of a 1972 chevelle with the 700r4 I have with a quadrajet. I believe I've picked the correct linkage to make the carb and tranny work on this set up:
http://www.tciauto.com/tc/700-r4-200...delbrockr.html

Now I'm having a hard time figuring out what distributor to use, what flexplate to use (stock 1992 700r4 one or a aftermarket one), what starter to use, and I keep hearing about 14089455 Spacer Plate (LH) and
14089456 Spacer Plate (RH)
from my searches here. I cannot find these parts, and I'm wondering if I even need them because I'm planning on running moroso solid motor mounts. I also am curious if my stock aluminum driveshaft will work on this swap. Also my car was originally T.B.I and I'm wondering how to set up the fuel lines. Can I use the stock ones or do I need to build some new ones? Also I know I need to run a fuel pressure regulator...what one would be good for this swap? Thanks a bunch for any help...I'm dying to get my car back on the road!!!!!

3/8 fuel line. And a return line.
Return style regulator such as Mallory 4309 for example.
Not sure about the spacers myself.
Headers will be an issue-- look at booboosean thread in the engine swap, as well as TheDevastator thread.
Chevy truck 3800 stock manifolds will fit with 0 issues. There's a thread someone used them.
Flexplate-- the bigblock ** may ** be useable, ** may ** need a bigblock dual bolt pattern flex plate.

What about starter? How many teeth should the flexplate have to work with the 700r4? Is that bracket all I need to make the tranny and quadrajet to work? What distributor should I try and use? Anyone know if the stock driveshaft wil work?

454 BBC is externally balanced so you need a flexplate for a 454. It will be 168 tooth. Torque converter bolt pattern will be the same so it should bolt right up but most aftermarket flexplates are dual pattern. You can't use a SBC flexplate on an externally balanced BBC. The BBC flexplate will also be for a 2 piece rear main seal block.

Position of the transmission doesn't change with the engine swap so the driveshaft length doesn't change.

BBC and SBC distributors are the same. What you want to use depends on how you want to use it. Your old ECM distributor will probably be useless. A large cap HEI is a simple drop in. It's a nice self contained system that simply needs a good high amp switched power source to work. A pretty MSD billet will also work.

What starter is good for this swap? Also do I need to rebend the whole length of the fuel lines or can I connect them from where the old ones are in the engine bay? Also does anyone have any extra tips or things I need to look out for ?

Any starter for a 168 tooth flexplate will work. I would get one for a 1996 C1500 350 Truck, it is small and has gear reduction, buy from a parts store and get a warranty too!

Use the Regulator as suggested above and you will not need to reroute any lines.

Re: 454 Big Block swap, need help making sure I get the right parts!

I can't offer a starter choice. Buy one for a 168 tooth ring gear that will fit. My headers are so tight that I can only use a small high torque mini starter and need to drop the header to get one of the starter bolts out. I have no idea how the patriots will fit around the starter.

I need the high torque starter because I'm running around 14:1 compression.
