Lt1 idle problems/ need help

Lt1 idle problems/ need help

I recently swapped a 95lt1 into an 85 s-10. I'm havin an issue with starting and idle control. If I slightly hold on the gas and keep it at 1000 rpm's or higher it runs great. As far as not touching the gas, it won't start or idle. New to the whole computer controlled thing and any help would be great

Check the O-rings on the injectors. Spray some starting fluid around the injectors and see if the idle changes. Make sure the spark plugs are good and wires are setup right and not burned.

Check the Maf too, unplug it and see if that makes a difference.

Injector o rings are new spark plugs are new wires appear to be fine and the mad was deleted... Had the same problem even when the mad was hooked up

The section on shoebox says to let off of the throttle and let run for 5 second then turn off... If I let of the gas the motor will die

bump up the throttle then until it idles, then start trouble shooting

Once the motor is running, I unplug the IAC and there are no changes. Does this mean it needs to be cleaned or replaced or is that suppose to happen... Please forgive my ignorance. This is my first go round with all this computer crap... Should've thrown a carb on it and forgot it... Lol

It should make a difference. Yank one from a caprice LT1 from a yard and see what happends.

on shoe's site he has the votage readings for the IAC and how to measure them

the idle is supposed to be controlled by the IAC

some of us who don't have time at the moment have turned the allen screw and manually bumped up the idle untl we could go back later and fix properly

my issue was O2 sensors when I bumped mine for a week until i replaced them

You should never move this screw as it can cause many other issues with the computer and the idle counts. The only way to fix them the right way is to hook it up to a scanner to adjust it.

I would look into checking the IAC and the TPS sensors.

never is a long time

please note that i said i turned mine for 1 week before i could repair properly.

It's not that it causes issues with the computer because that is just running an image. If you datalog you can see that the IAC isn't all the way closed when you turn that screw.
