With a t-5, I have the old school vacuum advance dist. and regular old non cc carb. Extremely simple and basic. I got better MPG from the computer controlled carb and dist.though.

when I drilled out the steel bolt in the aluminum intake, I ended up with a larger gouged out hole. A larger bolt threaded into the remaining mess and has held up for years.....Most of the holding...

If you could swap out the carb for a known good one and then swap out the distributor for a known good one....you might isolate the problem....I don't know if that possible for you, I have 2 cars...

Best to drill and pick out the remaining bolt or use a reverse turn drill bit that grabs the last bolt parts out....When the easy-out snaps off you will add 2 extra hours tryin to get the hardened...

Ok....with the t5 you onlly need a carb and a dist. Mine were cheap at the junk yard...You can also remove the wire harness that connects the computer controlled stuff.

The 83 LG4 uses a computer controlled carb and distributor. You can get a vacuum advance distributor and non CC carb that doesn't use the oxygen sensor or computer.....Then you will need to manually...

It looks like when the window moves to the top, it presses the side seals up tight to the angled t-top seal... the raised window stop adjustment is critical to not over deform that front and back...

I think that the up and down movement from my broken old trans mount led to the tork bar mount bolts loosening, so check everything when you are under there.

I spliced a clear plastic fuel filter,approx. 1"dia.x 2" into the PVC hose just to monitor how much oil was actually being sucked through my non-baffled valve cover. You can then see how much gets in.

Is there a way to visually see that a block has no core shift?....when i look at the front of my 80's 350 block the hole for the camshaft is not exactly...

That exhaust and the "soda straw" air cleaner snorkel (57 I think calls it) really keep a 305 smothered. I see you don't have the air cleaner lid, but I assume you still have a computer carb and...

Those mufflers and twisted pipes are original for your car.... Not sure what year your car is...but the exhaust and hood are 1983 or so. Prob. a fiberglass hood.
