Re: Do spun metal catalytics need secondary air injection?

Magnaflow has at least 3 all by themselves, under EO D-103-117, which includes a dual-cat for the '89-'92 TPI, but it's around $790! The single 3" under that exact same EO is around $190. Still ouch!

My cam/carb difficulty

Ok, please think of this as a mini-blog, to learn from or laugh at.

First get a new pair of Felpro 8510PT head gaskets and replace them to get the car running, then start hunting a '96-up Vortec 350. Scoggin-Dickey offers the TPI base for those heads, if you decide...

Re: Old Crosslace Replicas?

I recall something similar being available on '91-'92 Firebirds, 15"x7", you may have found a set of those? If so, backspacing should be 4.25" but any bs between 3.5"-4.5" should work.

Re: What bolts to a 700r4?

I overlooked that, my bad.
Transferring the accessories is possible if you change the mounting bracketed, but that's not cost effective unless you're a pro at metal fabrication.

Re: Will 17x7s with 4" backspace 0mm offest fit my 91 camaro rs

Yes, they'll fit, but why? You'd do better to choose at least a 225/50, or better yet, upgrade to 17x9.5s, front and rear, with 5.5" backspacing, on 275/40s. These cars are best at cornering, why...

Re: 3.08 THIN gears on 3 series carrier

That's an incredible claim, as the ring and pinion set are the weakest link in the 28-spline 7.5" axles, and all of them fail well below 700 horsepower except at the Bonneville salt flats.

Ok, are fewer larger teeth stronger than engaging multiple smaller teeth at once? 2.14:1 is a 21 tooth pinion, and I think a 45 tooth ring, I think 2.29 is 48/21, so that should be stronger, no?
