Re: Too tall for a firebird?

You are definitely too tall for a car with t-tops. I'm just over 6'2" with a 34" inseam, and I am riding on Fiero seat brackets (which lower the seats 1.5" and I still don't have enough headroom on...

Re: AJE power rack and coil over kit

The name doesn't come up often, I've not heard anything horrible about them in general. Fitment/quality seems fine. At least their product seems to be better than the awful website pictures.

Re: All alum ls3

Isn't the 6L80/6L90 and the newer 8 and 10 speed transmissions significantly larger than the 700r4/4L60? So much so that you might need to modify the body to fit them? I've never tried stabbing one...

Re: 3D printed (firebird) Cupholders

They ones you have look pretty bad to me, though the ones on ebay look cleaner. The listing doesn't state what sort of material they use for the 3d print. I'd accept nothing but ABS or maybe ASA for...

Re: larger sway bars?

Installing the sway bar backwards shouldn't affect the height unless it is physically binding up on something. My guess is your shocks will settle after you drive it a bit.

Re: Strut boots

They are not necessary in general. I don't believe any of the aftermarket style strut mounts are even compatible with any boots from any strut vendors.

Re: proper procedure for installing inner subframe connectors?

Obviously this is the best route, but it is pretty difficult to source someone with a frame machine willing to do the work, even in a massive city the size of Houston. All the shops want simple jobs...

Any pictures under the hood and under the car? I'd like to gauge just how bad the rust really is if possible.

Re: The Nighthawk is Dead

Definitely sucks about the car. Maybe you and your son can buy another that needs a little work and have a good father/son project making it the NightHawk II.

Re: 5th gen IRS in third gen

Very cool. There was a local selling the complete rear end assembly from a 2019 ZL1 near me for $750. It was very tempting but I passed.

Re: Making a NEW fuel Tank

All the reproduction tanks are too small. 14 gallons is smaller than many of the original tanks. I would see if you could get at least 16 gallons in your design.

Re: Who buys a Firebird thats hasnt ran since 1998?

Looks like a great project. It is very difficult finding a later model Firebird with complete ground effects and a front bumper that wasn't drilled through. I would have purchased that too.
