As the title says, I'm looking for bolts for the timingchain cover/water pump.
Mine are too rusted to use and Advanced Auto doesn't sell them.

For the 3.4l V6 or 2.8l V6.

How important is it to follow tightening instructions for...say..a timing chain cover? They tell me the ft. lbs. to tighten the bolts to, but is it completely necessary to get it exact?

Are you sure? I'm reading elsewhere on the forum that it's balanced differently.
My block is a 3.4 as well as the harmonic balancer.

I have to admit, I did a ghetto fix of my own.
The cooling fan went out and there were no 3rd gens in the local junkyards with working fans..so I shoved one in from a 4th gen. Only the top bolts...

Haha. Well, thanks for the advice! I may just do the intake plenum and oil pan red since I already have the paint. Or..put the paint aside and get black for the intake and oil pan..and do the block...

When I changed the fuel, pump..well, the one that was on there was attatched with garbage ties and plastic tie-wraps.....and some random wire...

The wires for the motor for the windshield wiper...

The oil all over the engine bay I mentioned came from when it threw a rod. All of the oil came out of the about 3"dia. hole it caused and into my engine by, under the car, and even coated my rear...

I changed the oil the day before it blew.
When I changed it, only about 2quarts came out even though it was reading wayyyy over...
