Isn't the Astro Van clutch 11"? Isn't that too big for the V8 pressure plate? Speedway Motors has a clutch that's 1" 14 spline and 10.5" diam....

The lightest of the three is the 12 bolt I believe and the most efficient given the size of the ring gear. It's a very tough unit. 400rwhp? No problem for this thing.

I see Torsen diffs on Ebay with gears pretty often. I don't think you'll find one with 3.73's but you never know. Are you absolutely set on 3.73? A 3.42 is a nice alt and more plentiful.

Try this: Unplug the brake light switch on the prop-valve, then unscrew the brake light fitting off the valve. You should feel a pop or maybe hear it. Screw it back in and plug in the switch again....

Make sure the springs are seated right. There is a chance the springs are catching on what I thinking is a small ledge in the spring pocket. This happened to me when installing springs.

If you're lucky, you won't have to cut the big bolt that holds the backing plate to the axle flange on the drum setup. Just know it is really touch to back it out.

Sounds to me like it's your ignition module. Have it tested at Autozone. It wouldn't hurt to get a new one anyway from them because they come with a lifetime warranty.
