It really depends on the setup and the investment, you cant put all imports or even all hondas under the same umbrella.

Actualy the 2004R is a much stronger trans than the 700. They easily are built to handle 1000 HP big blocks and have superior ratio spread compared to the 700.

You can use a V6 T5 with a few mods. I would still recomend finding a WC T5 regardless of your ultimate power goals, they are really the more common trans so theres no reason to settle for nwc.

Not always true, the outer most bolt holes are not threaded like on the RWD blocks, the bolt goes in backwards through the engines bell flange and often threads onto the FWD trans bellhousing.

How about Vortec 305's? I'll be putting togrther a super cheap TPI 350 using LT1 style flat tops and some JY vortecs, I accept that the TPI will limit my peak productive RPM to proabably 5000 rpm...
