A stock LB9 car isn't going to hit the high speeds necessary to completely kill the brakes. New rotors and Hawks or EBC pads along w/ Dot 4 or 5 rated fluid will go a long way in helping the stock...

It's all a matter of personal preferance, some people like manuals, some like automatics. I do know this a properly built auto will shift quicker than the manual will, also like the post above states...

AutoZone is fine just stick w/ their upper line items, Duralast (Goldline), do not use the Valucraft line. Napa anymore uses all the same parts as everyone else AZ, Advance, etc. and just puts it in...

If you put a posi on that 200c and beat on the car it will probably break. Wait til you get the T56 or an upgraded auto. I've seen two people do this on stock type 305 motors and both of them broke...

The 700 will need alot of work and $$$ to make it standup to a 383 and especially a big block, on the otherhand OD is nice. As far as the 400 goes, I wouldn't run one w/ a small block it's just not...

Your temps are backwards the top hose should be hot, lower hose cooler, you may have a reversed flow water pump and have the wrong pump in there? I honestly can't remember do some research...

Check the temp at upper hose this is the hot side from thermostat, then check the lower hose. Temp at upper will be engine temp. lower will be cooled temp feeding back into engine....

the gauge is probably wrong, get an infared thermometer and check the temp before you go furthur, and be sure before you spend more $$$...
