Stupid civic

I was driving home from school today and i was going about 55 mph and minding my own business. As im driving i pass a civic with a huge exhaust and a huge wing. The wing wasnt on backwards, but it was a crescent shape, and he had it mounted straight up and down (Kinda like a half pipe is ). well, bottom line, if im not making sense, the wing wasnt on right, anyway, i laughed at the guy, but he didnt see me or anything, and i was on my way, but then i hear this really disgusting noise in the distance. I look back in my mirror and im saying, "what the hell is that noise" then it keeps getting louder till i can see that same civic in my mirror, and hes swerving in and out of traffic. he finally catches up to me and as hes along side me, he revves, i look over and shake my head no, cause there is a ton of cars on the road then this idiot takes off. Well.... he tries to take off. Im still cruising, and after he floors it he starts slowly moving past me, and then i can see him keep looking back in his mirror real fast, he must have thought we were racing. It seriously took him, about 5 seconds to get his gay spoiler past my bumper, and i was still going about 50-55. Im just posting this cause i thought it was funny how gay/slow his car was. Do all you guys get revved at everytime you drive cause i do and i know my car is slow but geez, these imports are ridiculously slow (not all, but most)

i take it as a compliment

i would take it as a compliment when someone revs at me it just shows me that my car in there eyes is competition and not soem nromal every day car that someone just uses as a tool.
my friends mom alwase nags at me constanly on how a car is for to and from purposes only not for just driving around and wasting gas to me there is nuthing better then to burn a hole tank of gas if not more cruzing around in the summer time on hot days when all the girls are out

very true

i get yelled at all the time by every one i see what with you alwase just driving around and wasting gas all i here is wast of gas that and waste of gas that i get sick of it they dont see the true feeling of having a nive car and being abel to drive around in a car that you are proud of because usualy the person yelling at you just drives a normal every day grandmas grocery getter or something.
i didnt by my car to just drive to work and then back home if your goign to put money into your car u shoudl yous it in my eyes

and i alwase get teh crap i mean big time that i am a hot rodder and all i care about is speed and that im going to kill my self or someone else just because my car has racing stripes on it an the motor has go fast goodies on it.

when someone is talking to you like this and ragging on you if you no them they are almost alwase a hid or a grown up person that lives a very sheltered life and doesnt get out at all or in my terms has no life at all.

he hasnt said a word to me about how HP doesnt matter since then, lol

Luckily I dont have that problem. My dad used to build muscle cars with his friends when he was young. Aside street bikes. He understands.

All this crap is thanks to The Fast and the Furious....hollywoods version of import racing. The real import racers were doing it for a few years before FATF, but ever since the movie came out, the r!ce boy scene exploded....Now they are making a second movie....Oh joy, lets just bump the hype back up.....I hope this fad wears out and people come to their senses that these r!ce burners are crap cars.

If I had the time machine the first thing I would do is go back in time and stop the production of The fast and the Furious. We have a movie theater in our town with a long mile and a half driveway and some stores on the side. Every tuesday everyone with a half descent car would go out and we would do laps along this road by the movie theater. There would be about 200 cars. We would just hang out and meet people, and talk cars. No trouble no problems. And then that movie came out. And every law maker in this state decided cruising/racing was a bad idea. So the city put speed bumps on that road, about every 30 feet, So that cars couldn't drive over them or they would scrape. And then the cops started showing up, and they gave people tickets for any little thing they could find. Before I knew it less and less cars were coming. And now no one comes around. The cruising scene where I live is almost non-existant. In fact its illegal to cruise in Salt Lake City. And for that I hate that movie, it turned something totally good and fun and made it look like a deep dark peice of underground culture that partakes in illegal activities.

Yep, I feel the same way. Street racing and cruises were all about nice looking cars, customs, musclecars, old classics. Then the movie came out....Yay, it ruined the whole scene.

You know what else gets me? One of the only domestic cars I hate with a passion in the PT Cruiser, UHG! It's a miniture hearse!

The biggest problem I have with them are all the people who take them to "Classic car" shows, like they belong. They may look mildly similar to some of the panels and such back then, but they in no way shape or form belong in a classic car show. It pisses me off.

I had an incident once where I was at a light and this early 90s Accord with a fart pipe came up to my right. The lane he was in merged onto mine about 200 feet ahead so of course he felt the need to out accelerate me. Obviously he couldn't do it so about 2 lights ahead I stopped and he was to the right of me about to make a right hand turn. What does he do as he's passing me?? Yep you guessed it,,,revs his mighty potent 2.0 liter (or whatever the hell those things have in it) engine as he's passing me to make the turn. It was funny, but it also made me ask myself,,,what do these guys have inside their brains that makes them believe they're driving a fast car?? Then a few days ago I saw Fast and the Furious for the first time. Now it makes more sense why these r i c e r s go out and do all this ridiculous **** to their cars.

yea, all import owners who think their cars are fast need therapy, or a ride in an american car with a v-8, i think that would straighten most of them out. I mean, my car isnt that quick but when i floor it, it pushes me against the seat, but when i did drivers ed in a civic lx, the thing struggled up a tiny hill, with 2 people in it. and has anyone heard of a 325 HP 2002 mazda protege, cause there is a kid at my school that says my camaro wont even touch his car, and told me not to bother trying to race him.

I have a bad feeling again.

Anyway, I've told stories of the "Fart Box". An old Japanese car of some type. Large for a Japanese 5dr. It wasn't the typical wagon shap either. Guy driving it looked like a giant obese Goldie (everyone knows who he is, right?)with a fake Jamaican Halloween wig covered it motor oil. His car is slightly beat up. It's faded yellow. Huge can. Loud system. Nice tint. Too dark though.
30 mph zone. Traffic in the 4 lane. not 100% back to back, but pretty close. He gets by the Crown and revs. I'm right on 30 mph, because of the traffic. I looked over with a start--seeing something that may appear in my nightmares--I had see the car before but not the driver-that close. I hold my speed. He gets a tiny bit of room between his car and the next and floors it right next to me. His car moves along at a fairly adequete pace- definitely not fast though. As it gets past me, I see the fumes and liquids coming out of the can. You want a demonstration of what it looked like? Take some hot water and some oil. Throw both into a high powered fan while burning wet leaves. And it stunk.
That was the last I saw of "The Fart Box".
the end.

Truly, your car will never touch that protégé. I don't care if they DO get a protégé to run 11's and all that jazz, its still a Protégé with an econobox grocery getter history behind it. It does NOT have the nostalgic value a Camaro of any year has.

I do respect certain imports though. Supras, Skylines, 3000gt vr4s, 300zx, 350z, NSX-T, etc...there are plenty of imported sports cars worth the money, but a civic, nor protégé will EVER be a 'sports' car by the definition.

BTW, has anyone ever bothered to sit through an episode of "hi-rev tuners"? Geeze, they title the show around "tuning" but rarely even talk about the go fast goodies in the engines, almost soley concentrating on the appearance mods to the cars. A pathetic waste of airtime.

Yeah I've seen it a few times, I try to catch it if I see it on the show listings channel, I laugh through half of the show, and shake my head the other half....with the occasional pause to puke....

Well. I didn't read about it. I figured they would do another r!ce as thats how they got popularity.

I do know that Van Diesle was too expensive for them so they declined him.

A guy I used to work with was all about r!ce, and he would watch fast and the furious once a month at the least. Even though he couldn't even beat my Bronco in a race, and I wasnt even floored. But he was sure revin that little 4 banger up.

the car at the end was a charger. it's on display at universal orlando. i have a picture of me standing in front of it...

when the car guy for FF2 was looking for a hemi challenger, he found a perfect one at a car show. he approached the people sitting next to it. they said "it's not for sale" he goes "name your price". he ended up paying like $45,000 for it.

If they screw that Hemi Challenger up I'm gonna take a bat and beat the living daylights out of them.

You do NOT, I repeat NOT take a car like that and ruin it. I'll go down and personally take the issue up with paul walker and the cast for letting such a travesty take place.

A Hemi Challenger is sacred, they'd better only use it for pretty shots or I'm gonna have to get angry.

Can you see that I'm a little emotional after what they did to that Charger in the first one?

I get reved at all the time. When I accelerate slowly, it sounds like I am gunning it when I am not so the dude next to thinks I'm racing him. Then when I met the dude at the light again, he thinks he beat me just because he took off and I didn't. Its more annoying than anything else.

How about this situation:

You see about 10 cars passing a car a bit further in front of you, but the second you come close to it, the car suddenly speeds up. What's that about?

I really appreciate it when the truelly fast cars don't try to embarrass me. I came to a stop light next to a Chevy Nova with Drag Radials and a supercharger sticking out the hood. I bet his cylinder head developed more power than my engine.

Anyways, the guy let me get ahead of him by a car length, then he caught up, flipped the throttle for a second and passed my me. Needless to say I was impressed. He then slowed down to about a fender ahead of me. We cruised like this going 55 for a mile before I had to turn off my exit. As I was getting ready to turn, I smiled out the window and he waved to me and then floored it.

That was real nice of him. He could of easily made me look bad.

The point of that story is that even though he obvioulsly could beat me, he didn't have to prove it.

All of these economic Civics, and Neons feel like they have to prove something 24/7. It really irritates me when they try and race in residential neighborhoods because little kids play nearby and sometimes wonder in the streets. I can't stand it when when people think they are the $hit just because they put a 4" exhaust tip on their 17 second ride.

the thing i hate more than r!cer is the way some idiots start races... we have only a handfull of lights that have two lanes going steight over here.. guess somebody thought of making street racing very difficult when desinging this city anyway.. This has happend to me a million times.. i'm just cruising in the city and come to a red light... a car pulls up next to me.. i glance at who's driving.. the guy or gall looks back and doesn't even blink... the second the light change i realized the car next to me launches... i get a second of reaction and usuly beat the crap of the wannabies... The question is way won't they rev so that i know we're gonna race.. One day a 900cc twin-cam bike came next to me... the driver was a nice guy... he asked if i wanna race.. then informed me that he'll give me a car's length of handicap.. i got so raped.. but you guys get the picture.. only 1 in ten rev a me before trying to race...

Most og the time that's just people that know they are going to lose. They think that if they get a good jump on you out of the hole, they might be able to hold you off. The only reason r!cers rev here is that they are so cocky they actually think that they don't need the hole shot.

I will say this much about them, they are very optimistic drivers to the point that is unrealistic. Although, a true JDM Civic can break into the high 13's, but you most likely won't see one in the states. They look like sleepers too.
