Door alignment

The body line going from the fender to the driver side door doesn't align. The door is like a 1/2" dropped from the body line on the bottom of the fender. It seems as though the back of the door is almost aligned with the rear panel in front of the rear wheel as if the body line on the door is going diagonal. What generally causes this?

Re: Door alignment

You'll have more luck asking in the Body section of TGO rather than in the V6 Engine section.

Re: Door alignment

Your door is probably sagging

Check the bushing on the roller detent by the hinges, usually that is all you need to replace if your door still opens and closes easily

Re: Door alignment

Either that or you have a non-GM front fender (aftermarket fenders could have wrong body lines).

Upon closer inspection the rear of the front fender seems to have been jacked up improperly and it caused the fender to push up and out...How can I fix this?

The shop the previous owner took the car too must of did this...

Re: Door alignment

some type of jack was used. The bottom flange is bent completely up. The fender seems to be bent up and out from its original position. I am comparing it to my passenger side door and fender. I will post a picture.

See the bottom flange is completely bent up...I believe someone used a jack here and bent the fender up and out so now the body line is completely off along with the molding.

Passenger side (kinda hard to see its dark out) see the bolt on the bottom? seems as though no jack was used on it.
