hey zz4 guys

i have a zz4 and i am getting really antsy to get it in. how does this motor sound? does it have a real lopy idle? with hedman hedders, 3 inch pipe, and an 80 series flowmaster with dual exits will it be loud?

has anyone ran a 1/4 with it? what kind of times did you have and any suspension mods? i am only interested in times if the zz4 is in a third gen, doesnt really do me any good to know what it will run in a 70 nova or somthin.

p.s. i will be using the 650 barry grant demon carb.

Hey Bad,
you are in for it! I had an 89 IROC with a ZZ4 but it had the tpi on it. Let me tell you something. ... I LOVED it! First it ran 13.50's, I did some little things and got a 13.30, then swapped from a 2.73 to a 3.73 and got a 12.9 out of it. I put a supercharger on it after that and it had a lot more power of course ... 394 before tuned and 515 after being dyno tuned. You'll love it! It has a niice healthy exhaust sound with the right exhuast setup. Not too lumpy, as the cam is fairly tame.

It is just a little more lopy than the L98. Man I love my engine. Lots of horsepower and plenty or torque to get you going quick

Uh, with reservation, the exhaust ports on the ZZ4 are .100 higher, so be sure the headers you choose will not block the top of the ex. port.

i am using hedman shorties, they seem to fit the engine good. one thing for sure they fit in the car perfectly! they used up every bit of space and it all fits so nicely.

PACE Price Qty Order

Detailed Description
Performer RPM Pro-Flo EFI System is a complete system to convert from carburetion to powerful multi-point EFI. Designed for up to 450 HP from 1500 to 7000 RPM. Calibration module allows for total adjustability. UNIQUE CALIBRATION MODULE FOR INSTANT ADJUSTABILITY : Exclusive to the Performer RPM Pro-Flo System is the digital Calibration Module. Included in the kit, this user-friendly computer allows you to make adjustments at any time.... right from the driver's seat. You have complete control of the fuel curve, spark advance and idle speed without a laptop computer. Any changes you save can be used automatically at start up. A "restore" key allows you to go back to previous settings or use the "baseline" function to go back to factory settings. Simple to operate, the display guides you through all operations. A rich/lean indicator and automatic idle RPM control are included. The Calibration Module provides complete "tunability" and is only available with Edelbrock's Performer RPM Pro-Flo EFI System. TEST RESULTS FROM THE ROAD AND FROM THE DYNO : The Performer RPM Pro-Flo EFI produced 435 HP in dyno testing on a 355ci V8 with 9.5:1 compression. On the road, this incredible horsepower proved streetable enough to cruise at low speeds. A test 1974 Camaro ran high 12's in the 1/4 mile and got 18 mpg on the freeway. CALIBRATION CHIPS FOR PRO-FLO SYSTEM : The Edelbrock EFI System is shipped without the computer chip. The chip is necessary to operate the ECU. If the cam is any brand other than Edelbrock, check with manufacturer for compatibility with EFI. Then, fill out cam specs on the provided postage-paid card and Edelbrock will send you the correct chip, free of charge. The chip installs into the System Computer in minutes. Additional chips are available for a nominal charge if you decide to change your cam. Edelbrock has custom chips for assorted cam profiles. Performer RPM Pro-Flo EFI System includes : Unique aluminum Performer RPM EFI manifold pre-assembled with CNC-machined high flow fuel rails, fuel injectors and air valve with throttle position sensor, idle air control and PCV port. System computer has a Motorola 68HC11 microprocessor and 32k ROM. Six chips available to fit your cam profile. Calibration Module provides total adjustability with no laptop computer required. Wiring harness comes assembled with stock-style connectors. Fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel line and clamps, wiring harness and relay. Fuel pressure regulator. Ignition amplifier. Oxygen sensor. Distributor conversion kit. Complete instructions that give detailed guidelines for a trouble-free installation. This high-performance multi-point electronic fuel injection system includes everything you need to convert a carbureted small-block Chevy to multi-point fuel injection. The Performer RPM EFI System uses a sequential firing speed/density system for control over fuel and spark. With this system you get "total engine control". The result is excellent throttle response throughout the RPM range, great fuel economy with incredible horsepower, smooth engine operation and improved cold starting. Technical Notes: Recommended intake gasket Fel Pro# 1205. Manifold height; A-5.30", B-5.30", air valve height - 2.25".
