JW speaker 8800 evo2 LED headlights
This will be my review of the new JW Speaker 8800 Evolution 2 LED headlights 4x6 replacements. Overall very happy with this purchase. Cutoff is sharp and these things will go toe to toe with any modern headlight. These are actually certified DOT and the NHTSA.
The construction is solid with a poly lens. The connector is actually a small harness that can be unplugged. The only mod I had to make was to press out the high pin they include on the high beams since our harness was designed for a two prong. No other mods were required to install. These fit nicely in the buckets with no cutting or mods to the bezels. No wiring harness upgrades are needed either.
I understand some might say that an HID or other headlights might do a little better, but in my opinion its just a waste. These things are awesome, total plug and play. No additional ballasts, harnesses, or wiring required is huge plus in my book.
I also have the flip flop turns as DRLs that add a little bit of additional fore ground lighting so I am showing how much those are adding here as well

DRL, low beam and high beam cut offs. I may adjust the high beams a little still

Those look amazing man, just beautiful!!! JW Speaker are pricey, but you get what you pay for, top notch quality and a great product. They really modernize your car to todays lighting out on the road. Excellent change to your car.
Get a few more pics of the car with the lights, to see both the look of the actual light in the car, and the color the light puts out looking at the front.

Wish they'd fit in the '91-92 Firebird headlight buckets.

The hard part was putting the projector in the cheapo replacement housing and getting it sealed up. The Retrofit Source is where I got the projectors, HIDs and wiring harness, just had to plug the harness into one of the factory healight connectors, and wire the the relay to the battery

I definitely would like to compare these to the 4x6 VisionX headlights i bought but havent installed. I'll take photos as well and maybe even post a video on a drive at night and how they look in the day. Thank you for your review on these . I'm a bit late on the LED light conversion on my third gen 😎

Re: JW speaker 8800 evo2 LED headlights
So am I, but I'm about to join the club. I just bought some Morimoto LED headlights from HR Revolution! While I'm at it, I'm going to upgrade the battery cable and the wire harness for LS fans that are going in at the same time.

Re: JW speaker 8800 evo2 LED headlights
None of you are late to LED headlights. For 3rdgens, your timing is just right. JW Speaker has been making them for years, but now with Vision X and Morimoto, the word's three best manufacturers, now is the perfect time for the best 4x6 (and 5x7) LED headlights that are likely to ever be produced. And each brand took a different approach: an LED projector headlight, an LED reflector headlight w/halo, and an LED projector/reflector headlight.
Three years, and I've never seen this thread. Exciting to finally see a Camaro with JW Speaker headlights! Thanks for the GREAT pictures. Impressive. Easy to see why JW Speaker has been the benchmark.
The Vision X Vortex 4x6 will be impressive, too, and so will the Morimoto Sealed4 4x6. 400 videos on Headlight Revolution's youtube channel, where people can see how well all of these brands perform. Hours of excitement! For me, anyway, LOL.
There are a couple of 82-90 Firebirds here on TGO with JW Speaker 5x7 LED headlights, but 1992rs/ss has the only Camaro I've seen with the 4x6 headlights. I have to admit, I'm tempted by the new Morimoto Sealed5 5x7 LED headlights. But then I look at the projector headlights I've had in my Formula for about 8 years, built by Headlight Revolution's own, GTR Lighting, and I think, nah. Still, the combination of efficiency and technology, along with the quality of design, production and performance of JW Speaker, Vision X and Morimoto LED headlights, they're tough to ignore, so I probably will change eventually--but not yet.
Glad this thread was revived. Don't know how I missed it three years ago. Looking forward to seeing photos of everyone's new LED headlights!

Re: JW speaker 8800 evo2 LED headlights
If anyone is interested, i posted some photos of the Vision X 4x6 headlight with halo . incase anyone wanted to get an idea on looks between that and the JW Speaker. Only one left to check out is the Morimoto lights that were mentioned.
I had to swap the black and Red wire over to eachother's sides to have them plug up to the wires on the headlight.
I'll post videos and pics of them on the road later today. I barely installed them lastnight. if anyone wants more info, just tag me and ill reply

Re: JW speaker 8800 evo2 LED headlights
Those look great. Looking forward to seeing more.
But while it would be very cool to have all three of these excellent headlight brands here in this one thread, this is 1992rs/ss' thread about his JW Speaker headlights, so it would probably be more appropriate to create a thread for the Vision X headlights, and maybe blacksunshine will create one for the Morimoto headlights, rather than hi-jack this one. And each headlight does deserve its own thread anyway. Maybe in this Review forum, or the Electronics forum, or even the Appearance forum.
Hope to see more soon from you and blacksunshine. And again, looking great 1992rs/ss! Thanks for this thread. I've been wanting to see those Speakers for years.
This got me wound up LOL, so I have new related stuff to post, but in another thread. Then I'll link all of the threads.

I'm sure he knows. It's the excitement! And it does help keep his thread alive, right? That's a good thing.

Blast from the past. Haven't been on in a while. Are any of these LEDs actually good.? usually the problem is they are bright but do not project very far. Are they worth it if you want to see well at night?
