Great experience. Good guy, very knowledgeable. I almost pulled the trigger on LS1 brakes. Then Hawks came out with the 17" replica wheels. So I was able to throw even larger brakes on. I went with the C6 brakes. I have lower vacuum do to my large cam. So the stock brakes sucked even worse than they normally do. It's night and day with this upgrade. I'd say the braking is 90% better and I am able to lock up the wheels again. I still throw the idea around of going hydro boost, but I don't feel I need it nearly as bad now.

Some before and after's:

Re: https://bigbrakeupgrade.com/

What was the damage on the upgrade? All inclusive bolt on kit? Fills the wheels nicely. On the "to do" list...

Re: https://bigbrakeupgrade.com/

Same here, this might be my winter project but I will likely go with LS1s up front to keep my oem GTA wheels. I talked to Scott and supply issues are limiting some of his kits. This seems like a great upgrade for these cars.

$975.00 – $1,558.00 Depending on things you want to upgrade. Drilled/slotted rotors, stainless brakehoses, hub material...etc

Re: https://bigbrakeupgrade.com/

I have to say I like the C6 setup! but the LS1 isnt a slouch either, stock is F-body is 10.5"x1"? IIRC and the LS1 are 12"x1.25" which is a nice increase IMO and I like the price

Re: https://bigbrakeupgrade.com/

I've used bigbrakeupgrade.com multiple times. Scott is a great guy who knows his stuff and produces a great product for a reasonable price. I put 4thgen fronts on one car and C5 brakes on another, both were great upgrades and well worth the money.

Re: https://bigbrakeupgrade.com/

yep solid service. I went with a slight DIY approach buying some bits and modifying my own spindles. Scott was more than happy to share pointers and other guidance; never too busy though I suspect he has a lot on his plate

Re: https://bigbrakeupgrade.com/

Another vote for BBU, and another big thumbs up for Scott! He's a BIG help in being able to select the right product, both for performance, and what will work with the parts you already have. On my second LS1 front kit (2 cars) and I'm considering a c6 z51 upgrade here soon.

Re: https://bigbrakeupgrade.com/

Just spamming another picture. The 17" rims and C6 brakes are my favorite mods I've done on this car.

Re: https://bigbrakeupgrade.com/

All shined up for the photo op!

The larger wheels and brakes update the appearance, without sacrificing the car's heritage. It's what GM should've done mid-generation. Looks like you painted the rear calipers black to match the new fronts.

Looks great!
