Cleaning the engine

I was wondering if anyone here has cleaned there engine. My engine is kinda dirty and I want to make it shine, I have been seeing on youtube and reading on website that you can powerwash and use cleaners. I also read that you should cover the alternator, the distributer, and anything else electrical. Has anyone ever attempt this before or have any other ideas on cleaning the engine?

Re: Cleaning the engine

lol in that case, ill just drop a ls1 in it lol,

oh and also, while your cleaning the engine bro, make sure you cover all wires and places where the degreaser can get into ( i had to plug up my fuel injector entries with papertowels) and from the exausts and what not because believe me, i put some of this stuff on bottom to clean my tranny and surrounding and it was smoking like crazy from getting on the exaust. let me show you how the tranny cleaning came out

Re: Cleaning the engine

Just be careful of getting the degreaser on the paint in the engine compartment and under the car (if you're going to clean the trans as well)... It's not good for the paint.
