Need Recommendations for High End setup
Curently i'm running 3 12' boston accoustics off a Soundstream amp and I have 2 6.5' Boston accounstic components in kick panels and 2 Pioneer 4 ways in the pillars. The amp running the 4 high end speakers is a 2 channel pheonix gold. My question is would the high end sound better and louder if the 2 pillar speakers were unhooked and all amp power was left to handle the 2 6.5' components? I also believe the components are capped off...is this good idea? I'm thinking the entire setup would sound better with the high end only coming from the front of the car from the higher end speakers.
Any thoughts?

Yup, only RCA outs, probably several pairs.
I've seen an Alpine and a Clarion like this. They know that it is a SQ HU and anyone serious about sound is not going to be powering anything with a skimpy HU amp, so they just skip that step and offer a clean signal source and nothing else. High end home component systems have been doing this for years. most mid range to high end Sony, Yamaha, Onkyo, Technics ect.. offer recivers which can power 4 to X speakers, but the people who really want to custom tailor thier systems or DJs work with signal sources and use a seperate amp for final output power.
Another good thing about that is that there is less heat to casue any heat related problems in the HU, without a built in amp it can stay cool.
The drawback is if your amp dies and you have to send it in for repairs.....then you don't have any backup plan, so you might want to keep some cheapie amp around just to be sure you always have music!
