Proper way to hook up a cap?
Proper way to hook up a cap?
I bought one from somebody on the boards and got no directions or anything. What arived was just the cap itself. I was loooking at bestbuy and circuit city today and all of their caps had like a resistor board included. Is that needed and if so how do I go about getting one to make my unit complete. Will the manufacturer sell me one?

ok.... to wire a cap. First WHY!? search the "Big Three"
Ok now to wiring....
do you have a distribution block near your amps/ if so that is the perfect thing. if not get one it makes it easier... pos from batt to dist block. lead from dist blcok to both AMP Pos and cap Pos. Ground cap to a GOOD ground. there. dun.
Now go back and search the BIG THREE. do that and ditch the cap.
(can you tell I dont like Caps much?)

Ill do a search on the big three and it appears that I hve everythign hooked up righ but my questions wasalso what is that little circuit board that comes with the caps from bb cc etc? I have underdrive pulleys so I llprobably get yelled at about that.
Cool thanks didnt want to be missing something that i needed from the get go. I thught that I READ or head though that those boards werer to give the cap an initial chagre or something like that. Guess I was wrong.

the resistor, or sometimes people use light bulbs are used because the capacitor (when not charged) draws the current so quick it can damage the wire, etc... you're using it as a barely open vlave to slowly charge it instead of quickly zapping it full (and possible damage)

hMM to late I hooked that baby right up and stupid me using the allen wrench crossed terminals and burnt the crap out of my fingers. lol Funny how the pain only lasted a little while as I have some really nice crisp parts. oh well live and learn.
