HOME MADE AMP, like alot of watts!

I been working on wiring this up I'm almost ready, tell me if you think this is sound? Or if I'm just stupid. I'm running wires from the alternator to all of my speakers! Just like you would an amp. You know ins and outs with alil power boost, get what I'm talking bout? I'll draw a wiring digram. BRB

how in the heck do you plan on getting the signal from your headunit to your speakers?? An amp doesnt just supply power to the speakers, but it also routes signal......

lemme see the diagram then i'll decide how crazy you really are

If you connect the postive power from the battery to the postive terminal in the speaker the speaker will either be pushed out or drawn in. This means that the amp will have to have more power then the battery to return the cone to the normal postion and then even more power to cause the cone to be drawn into the speaker enclosure. are you sure that the amp can handle 12 volts D.C. at the speaker terminals? also you are going to drain your battery and short out your alternator because you will be shorting them to ground though the speakers. You will have any from 2 ohms to 8 ohms resistance. Make sure you get your little brother to make the last connection

Got at least part of that right.
running power and ground to a speaker will do wonders... *sarcasm* Try it and let us know how it goes.

hmm, let's just theorize that this would work, forget the fact that speakers need AC, and let's pretend that they need DC.

We have a 4ohm speaker.
We have 14 volts of electricity.
So we have 3.5 amps of current. (V=IR)

Now, we take the 3.5 amps of current, times the 14 volts.
We have 49 watts (P=IV)

Not that impressive. Now, let's take a 1 ohm DVD Sub

1 ohm, 14 volts, we are left with 14 amps (V=IR).
For Power, we now have 196 watts. Hmm, still not a whole lot.

Ohwell, at watching the cone on the speaker push out from the DC current was cool
