HP limit for this Carb??
I have a 750 holley double pumper with a Proform mainbody, Proform says it will flow 750+ cfm. What kind of horse power limit do you think this carb has?? My goal with this car is to go into the 10's, Its a full on drag car, no street time. I figured mid 11's on motor and then around a 125 shot to get me into the 10's.. thanks everyone, Oh and did I mention I am going to try to do this with iron vortec heads cause no1 says I can lol

There's a local '70 Nova 355 (~3000 lbs going down the track) with a Proform 750 main body that runs high-10's at 5800' NA.
I wouldn't worry about the carb being sufficient to the task.

Re: HP limit for this Carb??
carb won't be a problem especially with you spraying your way to 10s. Also I think to go from mid 11s to solid 10s you'd have to spray 200 as well. Also from your motor combo in sig, I see low 12s on motor, not mid 11s at all. Not enough cam or compression to hit mid 11s on motor alone. I would have gone wild if this car won't be driven on the street at all, but it looks like a typical vortec street combo for a spirited daily driver.

Re: HP limit for this Carb??
yea thats not the motor im using, it used to be my daily driver about 2 years ago and thats the motor i had in it. Its completly gutted with a custom harness and drag suspention now. I have a 4-bolt 350 1-peice block I am going to build, 355, all forged assembly, solid roller cam with around 11.5 compression depending wut kind of shot I am putting to it, I will probably end up going with some AFR heads if I have the money but for now I am gonna port the vortecs and see wut happens for the hell of it. What kind of crank HP would a 3000lb car need to go low 11's ?? thank again

383 with a big solid roller and 11.5:1 compression with AFR heads should be good for high 10s. IHI and others on this board have done, just not with a stick vehicle. Hope you have a 9" rear and a nice stout driveshaft along with a roll bar/cage/subframes.

yea it will have a 8-point cage, 9" with a spool and 35 spline axles, and I have a spohn 3in extreme duty steel shaft.. I might be getting a street car and putting this trans in it so i would go with a th400 with a transbrake but its all up in the air right now, If I want another street car this project gets pushed back further so I have to make a decision because my budget doesn't allow both at once lol

Re: HP limit for this Carb??
for 3000lbs to get low 11's, around 400+rwhp is needed.. but
drivetrain is a HUGE factor.. so about 500-525 crank hp is needed..

With all else working properly (actually getting the power to the ground) to run 11.00's would take 445 HP at the wheels, which with an 18% (average) loss through your driveline you'd need to have at least 543 HP at the crank.
