Water Pump installation

OK guys, looks like I need a new water pump. I just ordered one from Summit. Question.. what do I need to do to flush all the fluids out before dropping the old water pump? Also, how many gallons of fluid to refill? Should I also do a flush after I drain the fluids?

Re: Water Pump installation

There is a plug towards the bottom of the radiator on the passenger side, unscrew it and that will drain all the coolant in the radiator. To get the coolant out of the block you can unscrew a coolant sensor and it will drain out of that

Re: Water Pump installation

Pull the lower radiator hose off, it will drain most of it. Has to come off anyway.

Re: Water Pump installation

If you're not going to use the 50/50 pre mixed coolant, don't forget to use distilled water and not regular water from the hose to prevent a lot of mineral build up over time.

Re: Water Pump installation

ChrisFix has some really good videos. I'm actually using the one where he paints his Honda's valve cover and follow the steps to paint my valve covers this weekend.
