Vacuum Pump recommendations

I've sort of narrowed it down to this. will probably get used less than 100 times in its life. think this is good enough to get the job done for the car and house a/c?

Re: Vacuum Pump recommendations

Yeah the HF pump works just fine and seems surprisingly well made. The pump I'm currently using is the same manufacturer just bought through Worldpac in a gauge set / pump combo for $200 when the last pump I had gave out. Not the best deal but I needed it RIGHT NOW and they delivered in less than an hour. Time is money for me and driving to HF just costs me even more..... I've got at least a dozen AC jobs on it now. Just replaced a compressor due to a bad clutch on a Lexus last week with it.

Re: Vacuum Pump recommendations

I found one on eBay cheaper than my local harbor freight with free shipping to my door and no tax. It was identical to the harbor freight one and after several uses still works fine. Search ebay for 2.5 or 3 CFM vacuum pump.

Re: Vacuum Pump recommendations

The Robinair 15500 has arrived. It is a beast. Wasn't expecting it to be this big. Bottle shown for size reference only. Just in time for mini-split install arriving next Tues. Just in time, nearly passed out from heat exhaustion in garage yesterday. Get'in hot down here in Texas.

Sir, that bottle is for drinking. Oh nevermind, you've already done that.
