ALDL with Tunerpro and '8625

As much as I have used TunerPro, I have never been successful in getting the ALDL part to work.
I downloaded a definition from moates.net, and I think that is the problem. I can connect, but all I get is the error count rocketing up. I don't want to create my own definition, but maybe I'll have to....
Has anyone ever datalogged this PCM with TunerPro?

Ben.

While I haven't dataloged the '8625 with TunerProRT, I have been datalogging the '6395 and '7427 PCM's since TunerProRT came out. There is an error in the datastream definition (A217) in the aldlstuff.zip file. The mode 1 command (datastream request)was wrong. It needs to be F4, 56, 01 instead of F4, 57, 01. Looking at the "8625 .ads file on moates.net, it appears to have the same error in it. You might try that. There should be no problem datalogging that PCM as it is nearly identical to the '7427 and '6395. HTH

Looks to me like it is the A201 datastream for the engine and A204 for the tranny. The '8625 was only used in 1993 for the auto tranny trucks.

DATA STREAM A201
ENGINE USAGE: PCM-6 4L60E

LB4 4.3L VIN = Z 93 G,M,L,S,T,C,K

DATA STREAM A204
TCM USAGE: PCM-6 4L60E
4.3L TBI LB4 (VIN=Z) 93
4.3L TBI L35 (VIN=W) 93
5.0L TBI L03 (VIN=H) 93

Ben.
I have an untouched stock 8625 and just for yucks I used the $0D A217 engine def file with RT and it appeared to datalog fine on the bench. Connects immediatly. Other then a few boogers in the def file itself it appears to work ok.

Its on moates.net in the file section. First one there under the datastream definitions. It should at least show something when it datalogs. That will at least help you determine if your having a hardware issue. From what I could tell, most of the major things where datalogging correctly.

After a quick check, looks like the only difference between the A201 and A217 datastreams is word 56. In A201, it is commanded AFR and in A217 it is spark retard. There could be more differences that I missed though. I guess I will have an A201.ads to add to the collection here shortly. HTH

Well it works with the $0D definition, and as dimented said, most of the stuff is in the right place. I'll comfirm each one and fix the few that aren't correct.

Thanks again!
