Wish I could tell you more but sounds like you have covered it all. If you can jump the a to b on the aldl and get the check engine light to blink you would have verified the ground on pin a and the ecm diagnostic terminal.

Re: problem datalogging with obd diagnostic inc cable and tunerpro
I checked it and it worked.
I went with the cable due to the moderate price being stationed in hawaii makes shipping so expensive. But as always you get what you pay for I am sure moates cable would have worked flawlessly.

Not necessarily, they are failing too now as are all cables!
We've found FTDI chips used in making these cables, not counterfit, from same lot, work with one drive and not the next. None seem to be working with latest updated driver from FDTI. But there is 1-2 old drivers that work with all.
You can't just pick a COM port and try it, in Windows 7 look in Printers and devices to see the cable and right click to find which Com port it is installed on. Then see what driver.
Here's instructions and link to the thread working on this issue:

Nice find Mark
Re: problem datalogging with obd diagnostic inc cable and tunerpro
Thanks! I did the write up on how to install a cable for TunerPro and it worked flawlessly for years.
But I am not responsible for the driver update issue found, those people are linked and should receive credit.

Turns out it was a ground on the rear of the engine. when the previous owner did the swap he ripped the grounds out. Thanks for the help.
