aldl interface
hey everyone...
Im fairly new to the whole fuel injection world all together and this really intrigues me. I want to get into PROM burning and all that jazz but money is a big player in this. Im currently serving in the Marine Corps and it really doesnt pay that much. Anyways ive been doin lots of reading up and research on this, what im asking is if anyone has any working schematics and/or part lists for the interfaces they are using that work with the 165 ecm w/89 iroc MAF. Ive looked into a bunch of websites and frankly im all confused now, maybe i looked into it too deeply. Any info and help will be much appriciated.
thanks,
Mark

I am in the same boat as you. I have tried building three cable and so far none of them worked properly. I don't really want to buy a cable.

Well sence we all have 89's this should work for you guys to. I'am using Craig Moates software with a two-transistor Interface, the schematic I used came from this websight http://www.andywhittaker.com/ecu/aldl_hardware.htm I also used a 10k resistor between the A and B pins and got the 12V from the cigarette lighter.
The laptop I'am running the program on is a compaq P120 that has windows 98 as a operating system, witch seems to do the job.
I hope this helps you guys and make sure you check your interface cable if you run into any problems like I did, it took me three tries to get it right LOL.

Just build it and tried it and it works perfectly each time it connects.
However it did not work for me with Craig's software. I am using different one.

Here is the link TONY. U can download it there directly without anything missing.
The link is about 3/4 down the page and it is the Craig's Q Basic software.
