Big hacking job in the convenience center?

Hi guys, what the hell is this mess? The previous owner decided to move everything into the convenience center, to do what? Why is a Mercedes dude line installed, and the ALDL socket was moved near the fuse box? I need a big help to restore the original conditions! Reasons for this?

Can't really help unless we know what you are looking at, which means you either have to get another, virgin, harness or you have to tell us where the wires go.

Are there auxiliary lights installed, alarms, etc?

Yes, I understand.. I think there was an anti-theft system before I bought the car, the fuel pump relay wires where spliced and badly soldered... I’ll keep you updated as I will take it down this thing... where can I get a new original harness?

You will have to find someone parting a car of the same year and style as you have to change the harness

Re: Big hacking job in the convenience center?

ALDL location is normal for later cars. The only thing wrong with the convenience center is that someone removed the chime module. You could probably plug one right back into it, if you want the door/light/belts buzzers.

The added fuse block is probably part of a security system install, or maybe stereo or other electronics. Chase where the wires go, it should become obvious what they are for.

Re: Big hacking job in the convenience center?

Can it be somehow related to engine stalling problems, like loose connections or gounds in this zone?

As I said before, we can't help you without knowing what those go to. It is, though, unlikely that it is grounds. There are only a few in the interior, one for the dash and one under the center console. I can't think of the others right now
