Is this a street motor thats running pump gas? What configuration are you running now as far as the engine build. Are the pistons flat tops? How much lift do you need the heads to be good for?

Yes it will running pump gas. Flat Top. I would like the lift to be able to go up to at least .500. I am on a budget. Thanks

Ok...then I would specify that the heads have a chamber volume of at least 70cc. Using this compression calculator, a 64cc head volume will put you 10:30 compression. I believe you're at about sea level. That's too much compression for even premium gas unless you really have your tune just perfect.

Now since I don't know exactly what your motor specs are, I generalized. I used 8 cc as the piston volume. This is typical 4 eyebrow pistons. I used a gasket thickness of .040". The gasket bore I plugged in was 4.100" and I'm guessing your bore is 4.030" with a deck clearance of .015". I'm sure your stroke is 3.75". If you plug in 70 in the cylinder head volume, you'll come up with a more reasonable 9.73:1. That would leave out the Vortecs I was going to offer you. They are milled to 62cc.

how much would you want for the vortecs any way? This is going to be a carb motor. It would prolly be to much compression.
