*WTB: Positive Battery Cable for '89 GTA*

I'm looking to purchase a positive battery cable for my '89 GTA with the fan relay connectors and alternator wire. If anybody has one in good condition please let me know. Send me a pic and price to my e-mail epik_18@hotmail.com or through here if you prefer.

Thanks,
Phoenix

Re: *WTB: Positive Battery Cable for '89 GTA*

I believe that I have one. Bought a new cable from NAPA for my '92 GTA L98. No miles on it...installed on a car that became a parts car. Let me check for you, grab you a pic.

Re: *WTB: Positive Battery Cable for '89 GTA*

I'd appreciate it. I recently bought one offline from an australian based pontiac restoration parts website only to find it is 37 inches shorter than mine. I'll definately take it off your hands as they are hard to find. How much?

Thanks,
Phoenix

Re: *WTB: Positive Battery Cable for '89 GTA*

My recollection is that I paid about $45 for it. Seems high, but I guess because it is so long it contains a lot of copper.

$35 shipped?

Well, let me pull the cable and get a pic to you so you can be sure it is exactly what you want. I have a meeting after school tomorrow, so it will probably be Friday before I can remove the cable and get a pic. That ok?

Re: *WTB: Positive Battery Cable for '89 GTA*

I need to apologize to you. I've been feeling like the proverbial one-legged man in the butt-kicking contest this weekend. I did not remember to pull the cable for you to get pics. I was even out working on the car, pulling parts other people asked for. I am sorry for the delay. If you still need the cable and have not found one elsewhere, I'll try to get out there tomorrow after work and pull it.

Re: *WTB: Positive Battery Cable for '89 GTA*

No problem. Is the cable 60" long? Thats how long mine is. It runs all the way from the battery, cable tied to the sway bar, around the lower passenger's side of the engine underneath the header and down to the starter (by the knock sensor). Pretty damn long cable if you ask me lol . When ever you get chance man I'd like see it. BTW the part number for my cable which I've had no luck finding is 12073854.

Thanks,
Phoenix

Re: *WTB: Positive Battery Cable for '89 GTA*

I finally got some time after work to check it out for you. It does not look like a direct factory GM replacement. I have the stock cable, and I held the new one up to it for comparison's sake. The new cable is 2 GA, and is the same length or slightly longer than the stock piece. However, the secondary wire is a smaller size and does not have the built in black fusible link or whatever that is that the stock piece has. So, it will work for you, but will not be a factory exact replacement.

If you are still interested, please let me know.

Bull: I'm looking for a cable with the weather pack connector like stock at the moment but I'll keep yours in mind if I can't find one. Mines isn't stock either and is top post btw.

Dokken: If you have a stock cable with the connector and alternator wire, I'll take it.

Thanks,
Phoenix
