hey guys. i am getting rid of my 305 lg4 and installing a fresh 350!!
here is the site with the engine(http://www.enginefactory.com/newchevy.htm) is this a good idea?? also what will i have to do to make all that horsepower really work. i have a stoke transmission in my 85 z. thanks guys!

It doesn't mention what heads it comes with, or any specifics on the engine such as cam specs or compression ratio. For $3750 it better be kick-butt...could be a dished-piston flat-tappet clunker.
By way of comparison, $3500 gets you a brand new GM ZZ4 crate engine at www.sdpc2000.com complete with aluminum intake, 10.x:1 compression, hydraulic roller cam, decent aluminum heads, balancer + flywheel, etc. GM rates it at 355hp/405lb-ft torque.

Your tranny should be able to hold up as long as you don't beat on it too bad. You should probably get some higer gears out back. Stock was something like 2.73 I think. I'd go with either 3.42 or 3.73 and an auburn posi. A higher stall convertor would help too.

The 350 deluxe is a 335hp engine that is almost complete. I think you only need a carb and fuel pump. I think it sells for a little less than the zz4.
